It's come as a complete shock to them and they're now going to have to rush to come up with plans for how to vaccinate people at short notice because nobody warned them.

    Idiots

Didn`t realise GP`s were still practicing, thought mine was on furlough seeing as no answer when ringing up constantly. Could have been dead and he wouldn`t have found art till he wants to give me this jab

I do not think GP's will be doing the innoculations due to the storage requirements. I was under the impression that the vaccinations will be done at hospitals.

Coz of Brexit innit, Getting vaccine authorised so quickly because we didn’t need the EU, well according to Rees- Mogg and other Tories, despite experts stating that it was authorised using existing EU legislation that is still in place until January,

That is the all point of my post, no one answers, the automated service puts you to the phone ringing constantly no matter what option you press. I`ve tried em all.

I think GPs on their six figure salaries have got too used to not seeing patients face to face.

    Sorry you are so wrong.

imagine having the responsibility throughout the day, working under extreme pressure, often 5/10 min appointments, that the decision could be quite literally life or death.

None face to face appointments are detrimental to a gp because it makes it more difficult to make decisions. The reason why they take many appointments via phone is due to government underfunding

they deserve every penny of their ‘six figure salaries’, which by the way, is also inaccurate

    FALSE NEWS

This is simply not true. All practices have been written to to outline the procedures and this happened in the middle of November (Source: British Medical Journal)

"A single 'host' practice will receive all COVID-19 enhanced service payments for vaccinating patients in each local area - with practices to agree how these funds will be distributed, NHS England has confirmed."

    Why are you posting nonsense?

Seeing as they now pay themselves they see plenty of patients face to face: paying one's. Us paupers are lucky after a thousand calls to get to speak to a newly qualified locum who's working on the cheap.

What are you referring to though? They have been well briefed from day one (I’ve seen the stuff they get from my wife!). They can’t use the Pfizer vaccine due to the storage issues, it’s impossible.

I had to go through & make an appointment face to face with reception as I couldn't get through on the phone, they were extremely busy which is quite understandable, you may have to do the same.

But I thought we were told to keep away from the surgery.

I would have been happy to have a phone consultation but couldn`t get through to request one.
