An instinctive striker. Will we? Can we? I was so frustrated at the number of times the ball flew across the six yard box without a striker scoring. The nearest opportunity came from two centre half's. There appeared to be no desire/instinctive ability from any of our front three to get on the end of any of those great crosses. This isn't a one off issue, we continue to deliver quality balls into the area without any reward. My question is can we remedy this situation in January?
Can we yes, will we who knows(we can only hope). I’m hoping that this is part of Vals grander scheme of how he wants to get the team to play and if the team plays this way instinctively a the right striker will slot straight in and be successful quickly.
The only striker we have with that kind of instinct is Schmidt. The rest of his game has been poor though whenever he’s been given a chance to start. I can’t understand why we never use him as a sub for 20 mins or so though.
Agree, its so frustrating, I was never anywhere near league level, but I can tell you when I played up front I would have been somewhere on the six yard box, it just seems so common sense
