It still angers me that. Hundreds of their fans ruined a special day for a couple of thousands Reds fans up there. The FA did nothing if I remember right. No proper punishment & I don’t even think they got a fine. I hate that club & believe it to be the majority of their fans that are dickheads rather than a minority. I’ll never forgot my Dad walking out of a boozer & having a group of Millwall fans start abusing him for no reason. My dad was limping, only a short fella & retired at the time. They’re awful
Like I say, fair play for trying, but regarding "bubbles" if anyone doesn't know what's happening in world today with all information at their fingertips then I don't know!
I would suggest that sensible non-racist people would be able to differentiate between right and wrong. If someone I knew said something that I know was wrong then I would call them out over it.
I would suggest that they need ejecting from the ground forthwith, and go on a racial awareness course
Surely a racial awareness course should be the simple act of having an education. Unfortunately our educational system is totally geared to turning out people who can pass exams rather than rounded human beings.
School education can't be blamed for people being racist. You aren't born with racism inside you, it doesn't need to be educated against because it's not there. It's there because someone, usually parents, put it there.
Thank you ST. I agree 100%. That's the exact point I was making yesterday. These racists will have children and instil their "beliefs" into them, who will in turn do the same to their children. It will go on and on
I disagree, and you seem to have contradicted yourself in the two sentences. Having an education / educational system doesn't teach racial behaviour etc. The racists need to be "educated". Most of these "people" are grown men, they will have left school years ago. Some "extra" tuition needs to be set up, let's call it a racial awareness course
Ours only works to a degree but even some of our more prominent posters purposely circumvent it. So I'm not certain we can take the moral high ground on that subject.
I think it’ll get booed all round the country to be honest. There’s a lot of racists in this country. That’s for certain but there’s also a lot of people who aren’t racist who are aggrieved with what happened in the summer with all the protests after they didn’t see their friends & family for months. I’ve no doubt there will be plenty in Oakwell who will boo it. Some will be racist & some won’t. With Brexit & Black Lives Matter this country feels more divided than it has at any other point in my lifetime. Going to be a rough few years with this & the fall out from COVID.
I didn't know what the term meant so I looked it up. BRITISH informal derogatory a middle-aged or older white man with conservative, traditionalist views, stereotypically characterized as having a red or flushed complexion.
