sounds like 4th official telling Djemba Ba to mind his language!!!! ffs UEFA - this needs sorting out NOW
There’s definitely more to this situation than the 4th official saying “the black man” as folk are saying in social media. I’d go more along the lines of what the coach is accusing him of saying for the reaction it has had. Cameras, microphones and the benefit of no crowd noises, everything will be picked up for the future investigation. I hope if found to have said the word we can imagine has been said, UEFA come down hard on this individual. I wouldn’t hold out much hope of a severe punishment though going on their previous record with racists!
Wouldn’t hold your breath Ian, UEFA etc still not acknowledged QPR youth team having to walk off last year for in a game in Spain(think).
We still need to remember, that although there is still more work to be done, the UK is a far more tolerant, accepting and integrated society than a lot of countries out there. And I speak about gender, race, religion and equality etc when I say this. We should positively promote the good done in our country, whilst also acknowledging that there’s still more to do. Going to some countries in Europe and also the US, sometimes makes you realise how far we have come..... No complacency, just acknowledgement.
Yet a club employee feels that it's totally acceptable to use this vile word on a public forum. Stupid cùnts. YTBFC, Saturday at 4:18 PM
have a pop at him for the language if you like but don’t do it on the basis he is a Club employee - irrelevant. On here he’s a fan, not a representative, and should only be held to task for that simple fact, nothing more.
John Barnes Twitter account is full of similar. It's interesting and thought provoking to read his opinions.
Apparently the Romanian 4th official has called him "the black man" in Romanian, for which black is "negru". I agree with Iffy Onuora if that's the case... clumsy yes, racist- probably not.
