Evening, I lost my mother very suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday morning, it's been a massive shock to us all to say the least and it's been made tougher by the fact that we weren't with her when she passed, but thanks to observant and caring neighbours who noticed that her usual morning routine hadn't been seen, the alarm was raised and she wasn't alone for too long. When I lost my Dad back in 2018, we had a home game a few days later, and just being around the folk in the Ponty End who I've got to know over 25 years, talking sense and bo!!0cks in equal measure, was a real tonic at the time. Whilst football itself isn't that important as such, what's built around it really is - the friendships, the communities, the people etc, and the events of the last 48 hours reinforce that and I'm missing it more than ever now. Life goes on, and hopefully we are starting to head towards a return to matches in the coming months. More than ever, I cannot wait to struggle to get parked, have to take the long walk around the railway station as the bridge is still closed, and find that the TVs aren't working on the concourse. Much missed.

So much humanity in that post. It's a very odd thing to say, that someone recounting the death of their mum could be inspiring, but this is. Sorry for your loss. Hope you're all OK. Hope you get to a match soon.
