Parking charge notice - £70 penalty or, if I don't appeal £40. Dec 4 - time of arrival 8.15 departure time 12.07 Time in car park 3 hrs 51 minutes. !! -------------------------------------------- I arrived 8.15 - did some shopping - to McD drive through for coffee - left car park 9.00 Returned 12.00 to McD drive through (burger and fries for children (honest)) Left Asda 12.07. The info on penalty notice is wrong - was in car park less than an hour. If they check their videos they would see that I was in Asda on two separate occasions - is it worth appealing or am I going to 'be done' for returning for a second visit a few hours after my first visit? thanks. .
Is it that thing where you can't return within 2 hours? If you shopped at Asda go to customer services with your receipt and they ll probably write it off for you.
Get onto them straight away, I fought one or two of these on behalf of others, although with Lidl....they checked the cameras and dismissed it.
Appeal. Same thing happened to my son-in-law. He went down first thing in the morning for a Macdonalds breakfast, then went back again for his tea. Appealed and the notice was cancelled. He hadn't even parked in the same spot, but the system reckoned he'd been there all day. I told him anyone going to Macdonalds twice in one day deserved a fine, but that's a different issue!
there is something about not returning - but I think it was three hours before I returned - I didn't keep the receipt
Write to the parking company (copy in Asda and Macdonalds) telling them to recheck their video as you left car park and returned later and you visited both Macdonald's and Asda both times to make purchases. Send copies of receipts as proof. I'm guessing the ANPR camera missed your number plate when you left the first time but you'd be unlucky if it also missed you when arriving for the second visit.
thanks OG - the second time I went I didn't park just drove through the Mcd drive through. I love Mcd - for some reason porridge is off the menu due to Covid - can cope with lock down/isolating/shielding but difficult to live without Mcd porridge!!
I had one a few years back from Asda, we had been in the cafe and then the Car wouldn't start (flat battery) went to customer services and they were happy with a bank statement (had binned receipt) showing I had spent that day and got it wiped off.
Notified today that the charge has been dismissed. I was able to get a printout of my being parked in another town car park during the period I was supposed to have been in the Asda one - I could prove that I wasn't at Asda for the 3+ hours they claimed.
I’ve sent information and them ignored one of these for the car park at Meadowhall retail. They didn’t chase it up eventually.
Technically no. When it says return prohibited within 1 hour or whatever it means that during that time you can't leave and come back.
I think many supermarket carparks display signs saying that you can't return to the car park in the next 1/2/3 hours. On my penalty notice it said I'd been in the car for 3.50 minutes and fortunately I was able to prove that was wrong.
happened beforere returning car park area same day.appel should get recinded no problem.clearly indicate two visits.Took mum to opticains in asda then went shopping at asda recinded no problem
