I confess that I don't. I thought Chaplin was League 1 but now I can see he sees passes that most players wouldn't. Trouble is he only executes them 10% of the time - but when he does we're in. He's in the making. Anderson is another good player. Sollbauer was great today. Palmer and Victor have development in them. Hopefully. For now, looking at the league table is like looking at the Mona Lisa, after how we started this season.
Got it in one. If he was good at everything he wouldn't play for us. I loved Luke Steele, but his distribution was *****. The things you're talking about with Walton, like decision making and positioning, come with age and experience. And he's 22. Sometimes people just need to see the bigger picture (see also: why haven't we signed a massive ******* who can hold the ball up up front on our twenty pence a window budget?)
Great point - but it would be possible. Cardiff paid under £2million for Kieffer Moore. We could have got cheaper in from abroad with similar physicality. We paid £1.25million I believe for Luke Thomas. We could sign someone on our budget, I hope this is proved in a month.
He's a young keeper learning his craft. He'll make the odd mistake, but it's how he learns from them that is the big test. As a keeper, he's probably a good 10 years off of his best, so to be a championship regular at his age is phenomenal. I wouldn't be dropping him after mistakes, it's only going to damage his confidence. He's a great shot stopper, and I think he more than makes up for his errors. He made 3 or 4 good saves yesterday to keep us in front. Have a bit of patience with him. He's miles better than Collins, and I struggle to fathom how anyone would prefer him in goal over Walton.
Jack Walton is the best young goalkeeper we've had since David Watson. He has seized his opportunity really well, when handed his start when lockdown ended in June. Since then the "team" has accrued 40 points in 27 games. Young Jack has made a huge number of saves in that time to ensure we have picked up points in a large number of games
It's no coincidence that you're a mate of Hemsworth Tyke and you're just as much of a bell end singling out our better players due to an irrational hatred.
Actually thought he was unlucky with the goal - he went out to make himself big so Windass wouldn't chip him. Unfortunately ball went under him. Made enough decent saves after that to maintain the points
I like Jack Walton. He will get better and better. Some people like to recall his rare errors more than they do his numerous belting match winning saves.
Agree JT. Some people just like complaining when we made a mistake/concede a goal. Where are they this morning though? Celebrating an historic win by posting on the BBS? No, didn't think so.
The save Walton made tipping onto bar/post, whatever, was a cracker and earned us the extra 2 pts. He keeps the shirt for me, all day long.
He doesn’t have Hemsworth’s wreckless swagger, which made him so compelling. This lad’s just boring...
With the German/Austrian slant employed over the last few years by the club and the absence of 17 year olds on loan from Chelsea/Man City etc he'd have been erupting into hyperspace at almost daily intervals.
aye, when a player’s wife threatens legal action, that’s just class... Other lad’s Sunday league in comparison..
His ability to send the board into meltdown while remaining completely calm, was unparalleled. Sadly missed.
