Just because he's still got plenty of years left in him doesn't mean he hasn't already reached his peak. Plenty of players at every club over the years peaked in their early 20s and wasn't doing much by their late 20s. It's wrong to think every Football player is the best they can possibly be when getting close to 30. I would for example take young lads like Winnall and Butterfield for us over the same players at their late 20s "peak".

It's true, nobody knows when a player hits their peak. Nor is it right to assume a player is knackered and should be written off because he is mid 20's.

Like when Charlie Adam came to the 'Well last season.. He definitely looked knackered but I wouldn't want to give him a chance outside of the box

    Pretty sure yeah,
I put his next contract would probably be his best payday, you replied he’s only 25, to which I said yeah so if he signs a 3-4 year deal etc (paraphrased there).
Never once mentioned he’s 25, so yeah I’m sure.

The difference of opinion as I saw it is I see 25–29 will be his best years you seem to suggest it will be after that and people will pay more.
    That’s the joys of opinions.

Your whole premise is that he wont get any more at his next contract. At the age of 26 (his b'day is in feb i believe).

No, I said his next contract would be his best, you were saying the one after.
Like I said you’re entitled to disagree with me which contract will be better,
Edit:!looking back do you think I was saying he won’t get a pay rise in his next contract? If so that’s not what I meant which is why i said I wouldn’t begrudge him a payrise with or without us.

I'm sure when his contract lapses, or if he is sold in January, he'll be on more than now. I suspect (unless he gets a bad injury or is just so content here he doesn't want to push for better) the next contract will be his best one, so the one after Jan 2021.

And of course, he could be transferred after he's signed his next contract wherever that may be.

That’s what I originally said/meant :):). His next one as in after Jan 2021.

To clarify, I'm assuming he'll be sold if he doesn't sign it with us, so either way, I'm expecting him to sign a new contract somewhere in Jan 2021. Of course if he doesn't, his next contract will be signed in the summer of 2021. Whether thats 2,3 or 4 years, the time he next renews his contract or signs for another club, whether mid contract or at the end, I suspect that will be his best earning day, injuries and global apocalypse aside!

Actually.... global apocalypse is in process, so it's all irrelevant anyway ;-)

Big Vic will be attracting attention if he carries on.
