Thankfully not ordered a big bird for the big day. Looks like it'll be same household or just another household (bubble).

As someone who works in hospitality on furlough still I think they should stop households mixing at Christmas.

I get people miss each other and it has been a long years but the more cases we see the longer we stay in higher tiers the more chance my workplace will fold and I will be out of work.

The vaccine is coming now and hopefully the astrazeneca one due any time will see us able to start moving out of restrictions at some point.

5 of us - won't be seeing my parents in Barnsley until this is all over. Seen them twice this year.

    Does the below exist anywhere?

A graph of the last 12 months with a line tracking Covid deaths and a separate line tracking deaths from flu related illnesses? Is there clear evidence that right now, as we’ve headed in to Autumn/Winter, that there’s substantial net growth in deaths in this second phase? I’ve never seen the data reported this way but I’m sure someone will have seen it. Whatever the result, you’ve then got to reduce a percentage based on the ambiguity of what is officially classed as a Covid death within the data.

How did you book that in the first place?

All indoor hospitality in tier 3 is banned.

Looking terribly like it’s only me this year. And no Christmas night drink to look forward to either.
No doubt Mud will be blasting out lonely this Christmas all day.

Will be devastated if I don't get to see my parents over Christmas, as will my wife be with hers. Not living close by we don't have the luxury of doorstep hellos.

Listening to the so called experts in the media, it seems we need to excercise extreme caution.
A professor in virology on Politics Live was saying that the virus is not going to go away over
the five day " holiday" period, in fact in keeping with others , as a result of social mixing, he was
endorsing the view that there could be a possible spike in cases in January/February 2021.

Regarding his own family, they were going to wait until they had all had the vaccine, before they
had any belated celebrations which seems to make sense to me. After discussions with our immediate
family, three of whom have had Covid, it's likely we could follow suit.

PS . Cousin from Poole has been in touch. His wife who works in a Care Home is self isolating again after
showing the symptoms of the virus for a second time.

They said nationally that you wouldn't be able to do that at Christmas, so it was never going to happen like I said. That is a BBC graphic not just for a specific tier.

The whole tier system is placed on hold for those days they've allocated so im afraid it isnt going to happen.

My daughter and family live in Shetland and my son and family are in Dundee but it would be totally irresponsible to be meeting up.
I might pop over to hand presents over to my grand daughters in the garden. But it’s going to be a very different Christmas for everyone.
Not the end of the world as I have plenty Tennent’s in the house and BBS to keep me amused.
