    I think anybody linked in the lead up to the window opening is unlikely.

    There wasn't a great deal of speculation around Kane, James, Christie-Davies and Brittain until it was done or virtually done. Compared to ongoing links with Dykes, Bonne, Whiteman and Kulenovic, which never happened.

    If we are to be successful with the youth model we are so reliant on then these types of players need to be identified before they knock 20+ goals in because quite simply we cannot compete with other clubs. Easier said than done I know that but this is where we should be seriously investing in our scouting network.
