Let Valerien have a look & run the rule over the lad, assuming he'll be fit.

Wondered if he might come back early, though wouldn't surprise me if we loan him out elsewhere, especially if we do bring in that player from FGR

Wonder if he'll get a chance against Tranmere along with a couple of others, so we can rest a couple of more senior players.

Done well to get back in the country given flight bans etc. (Combining threads)

Welcome back Toby. Hopefully he will get his chance with big Val.

Think he could do a job in a back three. Definitely offers a bit more pace.

I thought he looked half-decent, hopefully he can do a job.

I liked him. I don't think he is ever a full-back, though. Stick him at centre-back, or defensive midfield, and there's no reason why he can't do well in the Championship. Ismael has already said he wants a central defender in January - hopefully he's just got one.

If we do indeed sign Kitching, then we'll have Sollbauer, Helik, Andersen, Halme, Sibbick & Kitching all vying for the three central defensive positions.

I am genuinely perplexed as to why his time at Oakwell has not gone better. After his first few games, I was convinced he would be our next big star, and I was shocked by his fall from grace. I do not know what happened, but I hope he can begin again under VI with a clean sheet.

Hasn't played since contracting glandular fever almost a year ago.

I've been keeping an eye on Oostende, he's been named on the subs bench once, but never used.

I wondered whether he was struggling to get back to fitness because apparently glandular fever can take a long time to recover from.

I can see him going back out on loan to a league 1 or 2 club to get fit.

Thanks for that. I had forgotten about the Glandular Fever.

Haha. I am invested in the lad's career - I lose a cup of Oakwell tea if he doesn't play in the Premier League!
