My late uncle supported Palace. Don't think my cousin saw them win at home that season. Was great to have the bragging rights and it was a real screamer from Redders!

Smelled like a brewery given the ale chucked all over. During the blowout. . Great day. ‘Twas Phillp who turned Grey mate. I went bald during the game. Pulling all my long locks out for 85+ minutes.
Bromsgrove were robbed. But it was like winning the cup final at the end.

 

Most already mentioned. But weirdly. Tranmere away. we lost 6-1. ( slightly off topic. Mainly cos of the memory rather than a top ten win.) For those not there. The most undeserving loss ever. Absolutely battered em. Except for the fact they had a little unknown player called JOHN ALDRIDGE. Scored with every touch.
I think their manager at the time was John King. Even he said we’d outplayed and battered em.
Too many to mention top ten. but for me Anfield 1981 without a doubt, No.1,
Millwall away last season. The lads were getting stick on social media etc. I was over the moon for the players that day 1st away win of the season at Xmas time and Fulham away was up there. Absolutely battered em. Doing the double.

 

Didn't Palace only win a home game that season until after they were already relegated, or have I mis-remembered? They certainly didn't win many home games that's for sure

 

The two Wembley games are up there for me. Never forget those occasions.
My other Barnsley away days have not been that successful. Derby Birmingham Sunderland Sheffield United but Bradford to start our JCT run to Wembley was good.

 

Majority of mine have ended in defeat.

 

Wednesday 08/09 - 1-0

Limbs, 5,000 Reds going barmy on a Tuesday night. Bobby's clearance on the line, JCR's thunderbastard.

Birmingham 12/13 - 5-0

Just an absolutely stonking and wholly unexpected result, I think it was the first away game I'd seen us win for nearly a year. One of only a few hundred Reds there to witness the most comprehensive scuttling of a team I've ever seen.

Wigan 15/16 - 4-1

30 degrees, entire end packed full, thrashing the champions in their own back yard to qualify for the play offs after being bottom 4 months previous. Had a solero afterwards as well.

Birmingham 16/17 - 3-0

Had just moved to Brum, dad came down and we had a look round the German Xmas Market, few steins of lager, 3-0 win and lording it over the Blues fans in work the following week.

Liverpool 07/08 - 2-1

Millwall 15/16 - 3-2

Midweek day on the piss in London, last minute winner from Nyatanga, limbs, celebratory £6 pints at London Bridge after.


Peterborough 11/12 - 4-3

Took the piss for the first 60 mins then spectacularly shat the bed in the next 10, before Davies hammered in an unexpected winner. That terrace they had until recently was brilliant.

Walsall 18/19 - 1-0

We were utter gash for pretty much the whole game vs a side fighting relegation, then up popped Jacob Brown with a totally undeserved 90th minute winner. I knew we were going up after that.

Oldham 15/16 - 2-1

Bit of a niche choice but we were bottom of League 1, were on the verge of breaking a club record for consecutive losses and had just been knocked out of the cup by Altrincham. Hourihane put us ahead with a screamer, they equalised late on, then Kevin Long smashed in a last minute winner. Just pure and utter relief and joy.

Rochdale 18/19 - 4-0

Fish, chips and a pint with dad in their excellent social club beforehand, absolute domination from Kieffer on the pitch, packed away end on a warm Tuesday evening. Just a really, really great trip all round.

 

Has this put you off going to away games (when we are able to attend)

 

No mate. Although since I've been with Laura I haven't attended that many. Just Halifax friendly and Sheff Utd away in 2014/15. 2015/16 Doncaster and Wembley twice, 2016/17 Derby, 2017/18 Preston and Derby. 2018 Doncaster.

 

Any Newport away game mainly for the craic in their supporters club rather than the actual match though

That's right. He was only about 6 or 7 i think at the time, very dispiriting for the poor lad. Having said that, he's now seen way more Premiership football than I have following Barnsley! He who laughs last and all that!
