I really don't get your angle now. early on when there was still some skin in the game, fair enough. even mild trolling, a bit of winding up cos you were bored, or maybe a bit of blind desperation for your poster boy. fair enough. but there's absolutely zero chance of the election result being overturned now. the legal challenge has been disastrous, even by the orange one's standards. and I'm assuming you realise there's zero chance. I can't even call it gaslighting, as gaslighting is at least based on some shred of debatable substance. this has none. I think you should just do the right thing now and cough up.
On the contrary Marc.... 90 minutes might be up and victory might seem unlikely from here, but there are still 5 minutes of injury time left to play and stranger turnarounds have happened. I’m still expecting a Trump victory and won’t be settling the bet until the result is confirmed. Don’t worry, I’m certainly good for it and I’m sure that BIADS would still be glad of the donation on 6th January in the event of me losing the bet.
The game has finished and you’re currently appealing to the EFL to have the game overturned because the ball was too round and the pitch was too flat. While you were playing at home.
I believe he told us he’d put a bet back on after collecting his previous winnings. Obvs don’t know the terms - is it still possible to put money on trump being president post inauguration?
Difficult to find with the bookies, but you can buy a futures contract which expires to $1 if Trump is president on 1 February, or nothing if he isn't. It currently trades for around 5 cents... https://ftx.com/en/trade/TRUMPFEB
It was trading at about 15¢ prior to the Texas case being thrown out at the Supreme Court. Shows how stupid people are that they actually thought that would happen.
Mellissa Carone was Rudy's star witness in his law suits. She purported to be an insider at Dominion who manufactured the voting machines . This is what Dominion have written to her:“You positioned yourself as a leader of the ongoing misinformation campaign by pretending to have some sort of ‘insider’s knowledge’ regarding Dominion, when in reality you were hired for one day to clean glass on machines. Litigation is imminent.” If you saw her performance she was the one who appeared to be high. It might also have been the occasion Rudy let go a gentle fart. I still think though that "Spyder" who was Sidney Powell's star witness was the best of the "witnesses" so far. Couldn't reveal his identity as he was supposedly a senior military intelligence officer. Turned out to be an IT consultant who had been in the military but employed there as a garage mechanic. And then in the last day or so Trump has said that the brother of Georgia's Secretary of State (Republican) works for China. He doesn't have a brother. One week to go.
Great fact check here in why Pence won’t be able to overturn the election. Thoughts @casual tyke https://apnews.com/article/fact-checking-afs:Content:9840583269
Again asking for a friend, but are these twists or turns? If only we knew someone who could shed a little light on it all.....
Thoughts? I agree. I think Pence’s role is going to be less decisive than I previously thought. It will still be the same predicted Trump victory though. Only one week to go.
How’s that going to work then? A majority in both the house and senate is needed to overturn any results. How do you expect that will happen?
A And spoil the surprise for you? Where’s the fun in that? Marc made a good point yesterday when he said he couldn’t see my angle because, to be fair, I can’t either. I’ve got no interest in ‘trolling’ or ‘gaslighting’ anyone and I’ve never been interested in winding poeople up just for the sake of it. I’ve simply got a different opinion to the majority on here and getting involved in pointless debates over the next seven days doesn’t serve any particular purpose. I found it entertaining for a while but it all feels a bit repetitive now. I’ll be back this time next week when the election saga is largely done and dusted and I’ll be happy to discuss the ins and outs of it with you then.
Perhaps it is... but I’m bored now. In answer to your question though... my understanding is that the Constitutional power to overturn the election result rests with the state legislatures but I’m not particularly clued up on how exactly the process will work because, as you know, I haven’t got much historic interest in US politics, or British politics for that matter. Anyway.... roll on next Wednesday. I’m sure you will enjoy the political theatre of a day that will go down in history, despite the result. TTFN.
