Don't think you're a cnt at all for doing that. That's your right completely and I'm very glad the club are doing it. Just that for me It's not about the money, it was about principal.
Fair enough. As a standard reserved member I was unaware that the club had emailed reserved plus members explaining the EFL’s decision, that they were unhappy with it and reassured them that they were working on a way to ensure that they would be able to watch the match at no extra cost. I could only go by the posts on here and other social media sites from reserved plus members that didn’t seem to know those things but if they hadn’t checked their emails then that isn’t the club’s fault.
This is the email we all got from the club, just for reference. All water under the bridge now, but I think a lot of the issues came with the first line. If they'd said "The 29th December is classed by the EFL as a bank holiday fixture and as such, is unfortunately not able to be covered by the Reds Reserved+ Membership. The club is working on possible solutions for this, however we are unable to make any promises at this time" that would have gone down a lot better.
Like I say JD, over the Festive period, I think they've done well considering. We'll agree to disagree and move on then please
I wonder what percentage of upset fans came from Reds Reserved Plus Members vs. Non plus members? As the plus members I know weren’t complaining. Brilliant work by the club yet again. They can keep my £10 and compensate me with three points!
I’m a plus member and I wasn’t happy, but I wasn’t blaming the club. It’s not their fault the EFL are pricks.
My position entirely I wasn’t going to pay for the game on principle. But not holding the club responsible Now I will buy a pass am unlikely to want the tenner back though I might claim it and then give it away again
This was my first thought too. Appreciate the gesture from the club over what is an EFL f.up, but I'd already decided that I very much want to watch this game and would pay to do so. If anyone can think of a sensible way to collect up some tenners from like minded folk and ensure it gets to the staff at the sharp end, I'll be very glad to contribute.
Its a marketing ploy pure and simply to get people to sign up for the match some would say a pretty smart one that's not having a go at the club it just is they have used the obvious known discontent of the supporters and flipped it in there favour they know full well based on the season ticket refund episode that very few if any will ask for a refund ,even if they moan about it and say they will. and also that Football supporters are the most loyal customers you can have and i guess reserved plus ones even more and they will be very unlikely to ask for a refund because they think they will be taking money off/out of the club By putting out this statement they will not lose money by saying and doing this they will make money. the people who were unhappy will be appeased and now buy and not ask for a refund , other supporters will see this as a great gesture by the club and sign up now to show there support and gratitude of course i could be wrong and i am giving them too much credit and they are not that smart !!
Not sure on that. Anyone who chose not to complain was accused of ‘blindly backing the club’ or words similar. At that point it’s easier to just stay quiet. I did also quote my own circle of friends. The BBS isn’t the centre of the universe.
Sorry for being thick but are you saying your personal circle of friends who are not reserved plus members were kicking off about it?
