I really like Victor. He has all the physical attributes of a striker. There’s a few things he needs to work on, which you can see a notable improvement on this season. His first touch, passing and shooting have all improved massively. He’s only 22. Let’s not forget that. Young players make mistakes, let’s not jump down their throats when they do.
I thought he had a good 1st half and ran out of steam later in the 2nd miss was a bad one but overall he had a decent game
Playing a lot of one touch stuff round the edge of the area the ball gets passed too quickly at times because players are being pressed as soon as they get it. Better players in midfield are not killing the ball at times and are losing possession just the same as Victor. This is why we are seeing some scrappy games with both sides losing control of the ball when being pressed.
Do any of the people slagging off Victor for his miss last night remember the one Moore missed at Leeds? Now that was a miss...
His first touch does need to improve, but there’s a lot of potential in Victor! He’s an effective player for us at the minute and has noticeably improved since we saw him in the promotion season
Only on this board could an even handed debate about a vital squad member veer off into a discussion about eating sprouts
My own opinion is he will become a good league 1 striker, but then i thought that about Toney and Chris Woods who hasnt had too bad of a career, so christ knows
If I'm not mistaken, didn't he play a large part in one of last night's goals, with the assist to the assister?
I've had to double check, but it doesn't look like it mate. 1st goal - Brittain to Mowatt to Woodrow. 2nd goal - Woodrow to Styles to Mowatt. Vic did make a great run for the 2nd goal though - to open up the space for Mowatt
Thanks. I just re-checked the Extended Highlights. I thought Victor played is part (nice first touch too!) around the 2:00 minute mark for the second goal.
Yes mate, I've just watched the extended highlights. Vic brings it down lovely and lays it off to Woodrow in the build up to the 2nd
