Not in those words, no. But when someone pointed out the dangerous pardons that Trump has made (some of which violate international law, by the way), your first response was to compare that to Obama’s number of pardons. Most of whom were minor drug charges. So you did say that, even if you didn’t use those words.
You’re insufferable really. I wasn’t making a comment anyth8ng like you’ve described above, I just made a general comment. The fact that I can’t talk openly about anything without the caveat ‘I’m not giving an opinion’ but then it still gets classed as an opinion. Reverse the question/challenge, taking away you know more than most about the US, do you not think it’s interesting to those that don’t have a clue that Obama holds that record? I did. And I don’t hold it as a negative against him.
I think it’s a nice bit of information yes. However I don’t think it was relevant to the conversation when you brought it up. You can say it wasn’t an opinion but it certainly comes off as you trying to take the heat away from Trump. Surely you can see that? It’s like if Cauley Woodrow scored 10 overhead scissor kicks in a single game and someone responds “Sam Winnall scored 40 goals for Barnsley”. Yes it’s factually accurate and an interesting statistic but the only role it plays as part of that discussion is to undermine the subject matter being discussed.
It's interesting when you look back to Page 1 of this thread. Thinly-veiled barbs being tossed around even then. When you consider that Trump and his little elves were already barking about imagined electoral fraud even back then (before the election) it's astonishing how little evidence they've managed to cobble together (none, for all intents and purposes). Meanwhile it seems even Trump's own heart isn't really in the Jackanory attempt to upend the election as he has spent six of the last seven days on the golf course!
Personally I think this debating is all a bit pointless now, at the end of the day the self-serving, dishonest, morally bankrupt ego manic ***** will thankfully no longer be the president.
He's golfing, yes, but at the same time breaking more records. He really is the best POTUS!!! https://edition.cnn.com/2020/12/31/health/us-coronavirus-thursday/index.html
yes replaced by a ..........................................................................................,the world really is in a mess isn't it
Difficult to work out where the justification lies that calls: Killing lots of black convicts and Pardoning white people that murdered people of colour having ‘conviction’, I’d call it having a racist agenda personally.
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/03/us/politics/trump-campaign-money.html Plenty of outlets reporting on it . Well if I'm being honest it's old news . Plenty of others lining their pockets too .
I was listening to Joe Rogan’s podcast the other day (well worth signing up for if you have a thinly veined interest in business, sports, TV, the US) and the number of deaths solely associated to Covid are 6%. Is there a similar stat in the UK or Europe to compare it to? We all know countries are recording deaths massively differently but I didn’t know if that 6% was commonly the same.
That’s a terrible analogy but I’d admire the effort. It would be more like talking about a Woodrow overhead kick and someone responding with a fact about Winnall scoring more overhead kicks than any other Barnsley player. I think if you take away the red mist of the debate, which is all too often there, people can make standalone comments around interesting facts without it being used for points scoring
