The next day Mowatt tests positive. How is it that only Miller is classed as having had contact? Presumably they car share, but still, Mowatt surely had contact with the entire squad on Tuesday.

I read it more as Mowatt and miller have tested positive and Chaplin and Collins are isolating due to contact tracing (which presumably started before the Rotherham game which they both missed)

Not being negative for one minute but if we had to play a game with a weakened squad Norwich away would have been near (if not top) of the list.

Chaplin missed the Rotherham game for covid related reasons didn’t he? I wouldn’t say it’s anything to do with millers.

It was only a matter of time before we got it in our camp, especially after Christmas Day. Just hope everyone and their families are cared for and safe.

We need a break in professional football I think, too many clubs are experiencing postponements. I fully expect our game off tomorrow now.

It’s down to the amount of time spent in close contact. I don’t know if they use vest trackers during games and training, like they did in the rugby to help with contact tracing. That said, I’d be giving styles a week off and a couple of tests over the next week after that goal celebration

Collins has Covid doesn’t he, not just been in contact? That’s what Doug O’Kane I think it was said a few days ago.

So Collins has it and Chaplin was in close contact with him.
Mowatt has it and Miller has been in close contact with him.

Yep, Collins and Mowatt tested positive. Chaplin and Miller were contacts

I'd be amazed if we don't have more positives in the coming days. We've got great staff and I'm sure we've done all we can to mitigate it and stop the spread, but it's going to be very difficult to control once it's in there like that.

Well I have to say it’s to be hoped we can vaccinate these key workers a lot sharper than that. I wouldn’t put footballers right to the front of the queue but as things stand at the moment their right at the back. If you allowed say 30 vaccines per club it still comes to under 3000 in total which minuscule amount in the great scheme of things, particularly when set against the potential benefits.

Nar keep it simple. Why alter two positions when one will do..?
Leave Styles where he's been exceptional and just do a streght swop with ether Kane or Palmer... Maybe Kane for me..

I'd very much doubt he caught Covid at the Rotherham game because as far as I understand it you won't get a test showing a positive result within 24 hours of contracting Covid, and his test was done at the most 24 hours after the game. The general guide is to wait at least 2 to 5 days after you think you have been infected to have a test.

They also think that you are infectious maybe 2 to 5 days after becoming infected and are most likely to pass it on 24/48 hours before you display symptoms (if you do display any)

If the above is true then any other Barnsley players should really wait at least 2 days after the game before being tested themselves.

I'm somewhat surprised that football hasn't been harder hit tbh.

Wouldn't move Styles - doing well there. Just slot Kane straight in

Palmer in for me he’s more athletic than Kane and I’d imagine we’ll spend the majority of the game off the ball

Same as most, I’d slot Palmer straight in for Mowatt and keep same shape. Plus Kane is not very good at football, which doesn’t help in a football match.

Absolutely barmy isn't it? The whole squad would be picked up by any sensible contact tracing.
