I wasn't expecting a win at Norwich, do that's how I see it too. A chance for Kane or Palmer to impress the gaffer, hopefully.
It's easier to say in retrospect but I don't remember a single person before the game saying it should be off. I might be wrong, but general consensus was get it played and hammer them. We knew the risk I suppose.
You’d think it reasonable that once a ‘bubble’ is breached and just one case recorded at a club, a reset should occur immediately.
Looks like we didn’t really help ourselves going into the ground at Rotherham too. Lack of face masks etc. Will imagine a couple more will more than likely test positive next week!
There was absolutely loads of us saying it should be off. It now appears we already had it in our team by then anyway though.
First and foremost I hope Alex is OK. Secondly, why isn't the whole squad self isolating due to being in contact this week with him
My bad, the Yorkshire post journo in the opening post said that Collins and Chaplin were isolating as they'd been in contact with someone.
Like many on here I hope Alex is ok and doesn't have any long covid side effects. I'll be amazed if this doesn't lead to a larger outbreak within the club. We've been pretty lucky up to now, but I think the virus in the coming weeks will affect many other clubs. The big question is, will the FA step in and close down the leagues for a few weeks to test and get on top of the issue. If they don't and players get seriously ill, affecting their long term careers then get ready for many law suits. Why is professional sport any different to any other form of employment. The FA are the bosses and if they are seen to be wilfully ignoring medical advice then they need hammering for it. It's time for the PFA to actually start acting like a proper TU and hammer home their objections, concerns and get something in place for any player who is unlucky enough to be adversely affected.
How does self isolating work? If Mowatt tested positive on Wednesday and on Tuesday he was doing this How come all those other players aren't self isolating?

Absolutely not, it’s the signal it sends out as well as the fact it’s there to prevent deaths and professional athletes in their 20s have almost zero chance of dying. Also there’s no evidence yet it stops you from getting covid or from you passing it on. Some things are more important then football. Imagine being an ICU nurse waiting for your vaccine and you see Mo Sallah getting it? Have a word.
I can only assume it’s to do with timescale like with the app - ie had they been hugging for 15 mins then they would have to self isolate
Would have no effect, doesnt stop you catching it just reduces the effects. You would still be infected and still contagious and would need to isolate to protect others vaccinate the most vulnerable.
Face masks do little or nothing to protect the wearer, they are there to protect others from being infected by the wearer. This is almost universally misunderstood, as evidenced by the total lack of social distancing there's been since everyone started wearing them in shops. "I'm alright, I've got a mask on" seems to be perceived wisdom. Back to the main topic, I hope Alex has mild symptoms or is asymptomatic and is back in the side asap. I think tomorrow's game should be viewed as an opportunity for Palmer and Kane. Hopefully Sollbauer will get the captain's armband.
