TEAM NEWS VS NORWICH CITY Club News This afternoon's lineups look like this... Continue reading on the official site...
Yeah, I find that odd too. I know we've played Thomas as part of a front 3 previously, however I wonder whether we might get a slight change in shape? Although, knowing Val, I seriously doubt it.
Can our lads alter a long standing record.? We haven't won at Carrow Road for thirty seven years. A win is therefore long overdue. Come on you Reds.
So in Val's eyes we have 22 first team (squad) quality players. 11 starting 7 subs 4 isolating I hope we are able to increase the competition for places this month for him.
Plus two injured (Halme and Williams) Sibbick back at the club but not eligible to play until next week.
I think that many posters under estimate the level of importance that VI places upon the ability of his forwards to press in the way that he wants. The press demands that the front 3 are athletic, and that they can run and run. They are the first line of our defence, and that is particularly true when playing a team with the quality of Norwich. Thomas and Frieser will be expected to run themselves to a standstill today. After an hour, they will be replaced by two other players, who will be expected to do the same thing. Thomas is playing for his future. This is his chance to prove he still has a place at the club. He was the natural choice. VI has nothing to lose.
Honestly not sure how many more chances Thomas needs. Hope to god he proves me wrong but normally his end product is absolutely woeful. He’s quick and can run though so that is something this side requires.
