You’re not going to like this reply as it flies in the face of all you’ve said about debating the issues etc but I can’t be @rsed because the fact is that it’s just completely incompatible to consider being both a Labour and Republican voter.
when all said and done, a vote for the Republican Party was a vote to keep Donald trump in power. that's the beginning and end of it for me. people can say 'not all republicans are trump supporters' until the cows come home, but it's a cold hard fact that the republican vote was a vote to reinstate Donald trump. I'm personally unable to see past that. party politics go out of the window. you either voted for Donald trump or you didn't.
I wouldn’t vote for Trump so I suppose going by the same criteria I can’t be considered a Trump supporter. So that leaves Loko as the only Trump supporter on the thread.
@casual tyke Murkowski has confirmed her plans to affirm the election. So has Toomey. Combined with Romney who was the only Republican who voted to remove Trump after he was impeached and wouldn’t have surprised me if he voted to object in the event Trump won... and there’s no majority in either house. Thoughts? Source:
My thoughts are that I am intrigued to see how it will play out but that, however it does, I still expect Trump to be re-elected. I don't have any facts or figures to give you. I just have a gut feeling that could end up being either wrong or right. Either way we should find out in the next few days.
In a way biden is a bigger danger to the left than trump is . When biden fails to deliver anything then the " left " will be blamed further fueling the fire to someone like trump . The progressive wing of the democratic party have a huge amount of leverage at the moment re Nancy pelosi's re election as speaker . Will they use it ? I don't think so further weakening any reason to vote democrat . Maybe it's just me but I think the next 4 years will be worse than the previous 4 .
I have a gut feeling that Barnsley will be crowned Champions, and that Daniel Stendel will be manager of the season. I can’t explain how this will happen but when I think about it it makes my winky feel ‘nice’.
No, have you not been paying attention??! We've got to wait until Wednesday, apparently, for things to get interesting. Well, I think it's Wednesday; they've moved the Interesting Day back so many times it's hard to be certain
Well we’re down to “gut feelings” now too. No president has ever lost as much as Trump, that’s for sure. What a loser!
I never particularly liked Mitt Romney but he is at least what used to be considered a Republican and not a Trumpist. Here's his statement on the coup attempt “The egregious ploy to reject electors may enhance the political ambition of some, but dangerously threatens our Democratic Republic. The congressional power to reject electors is reserved for the most extreme and unusual circumstances. These are far from it. More Americans participated in this election than ever before, and they made their choice. President Trump’s lawyers made their case before scores of courts; in every instance, they failed. The Justice Department found no evidence of irregularity sufficient to overturn the election. The Presidential Voter Fraud Commission disbanded without finding such evidence. “My fellow Senator Ted Cruz and the co-signers of his statement argue that rejection of electors or an election audit directed by Congress would restore trust in the election. Nonsense. This argument ignores the widely perceived reality that Congress is an overwhelmingly partisan body; the American people wisely place greater trust in the federal courts where judges serve for life. Members of Congress who would substitute their own partisan judgement for that of the courts do not enhance public trust, they imperil it. “Were Congress to actually reject state electors, partisans would inevitably demand the same any time their candidate had lost. Congress, not voters in the respective states, would choose our presidents. “Adding to this ill-conceived endeavor by some in Congress is the President’s call for his supporters to come to the Capitol on the day when this matter is to be debated and decided. This has the predictable potential to lead to disruption, and worse. “I could never have imagined seeing these things in the greatest democracy in the world. Has ambition so eclipsed principle?” Interesting that Hawley the leader of this nonsense was just a few months ago arguing very strongly against such seditious action.
It’s amazing how many stupid people are willing to go against all they claim to believe because a ‘billionaire’ [citation needed] said what they want to hear and now tells them what to think. Equally amazing is how many elected officials are willing to destroy their country to appease these morons.
That wasn’t me saying I think they will overturn anything. They won’t. There’s literally no way. Say it with me: “they need a majority in the house and senate to overturn the certified electors” They have neither. All they’re doing is theatre to siphon more money from idiots. Doesn’t change the fact that it sets a dangerous precedent though.
Wednesday is the day the Aliens land on the Whitehouse lawn and they all have little hands, orange faces, basket weave yellow hair and really fit wives, the world beware its going to get interesting
