Nothing to do with the teaching staff. I agree that a lot more should have been done, but this falls squarely at the feet of the government. They've had all summer to put processes, training and additional funding in place to ensure that every school is in a position to continue to do what's necessary. They haven't, because they simply don't care.
You can't supply elderly folk without sneezing in their face right. It's impossible to create secure drop offs of food and equipment. It's impossible to use rapid tests for anyone coming into contact with them. There's no way to do that. Nope best lock up the kids just in case
No we have chosen to prioritise the lives of the elderly over the children. The trolley problem is on full swing in the UK and millions have chosen
No, you are not wrong in your concern for younger people. I agree . however 10 million children haven't started wetting the bed. I have a number of younger kids in my family and not one of them has done this. It's not an easy time for anyone but we just need to acknowledge this is a **** time and we need to support all vulnerable people whenever we can Your posts come across as sensationalist to me
Unfortunately during the summer they were busy pushing eat out to help out as if this was all going to blow over .
My post is realist. This is exactly what we are doing to kids and to otherwise healthy adults too. We have answered the trolley problem and said the train must be diverted towards someone else. It's an hypothetical roblem that people have asked for years and the UK has firmly answered it. We can also all stop this ******** pretending we care about mental health and that mental health is as important as physical health because clearly the public at large !(who have nice jobs) do not believe this to be true.
Just my experience in Kirklees pal. To balance the books heard some real positive stories from other Local Authorities.
Im not a fan of lockdowns - but I dont see any choice here - the hospitals are at capacity and we are at least 3 weeks below the peak even if the lockdown works As for Supertykes protect the elderly - in most areas the problem is with younger people. In my area the rate for under 60's is double the rate for over 60 most of who are acting as if locked down anyway . The virus is passed on by contact - reduce the contact reduce the rate of transmission - just locking up the over 60's isnt going to protect the NHS in the short term . we are paying the price for government incompetence and no easy fix from here
The rate of what? People needing hospital care and dying or the people having a test and being told they have it?
Quote from a doctor on the radio earlier it's not just the elderly filling the Hospitals this time it's affecting younger people too not necessarily killing them but leading to them needing intensive care. You let this rip and the NHS collapses whether or not the elderly are locked up.
It doesnt mean I cant think some of the rules are just stupid though Pubs and Restaurants now are banned from offering click and collect on alcoholic drinks but are only allowed to do a click and collect on food or soft drinks - how the **** does that make any difference other than drive people to supermarkets to get the drink and make the pub / restaurant even more unviable and in cases of draft beer just have to throw it away - its too stupid for words
Why not just immunise all the school kids. There all there in one place. Give them vaccine and let em go back to school. sounds awful but we’re vaccinating old folk dying in care homes
And you can buy your t-shirts from Tesco. Oh but not from an independent clothes shop which until today had a sign on the door saying one person at a time in the shop
Whatever fits your narrative. We don't care about your jobs, you can lose everything for all we care. Did that make it more authentic for you?
