    I thought at the point he supposedly cashed out it was looking likely that Biden would win which I found strange at the time but I may well have remembered that wrong.

    Politics got a lot uglier four years ago, not recently, when a non-politician ended up running for President and the tactics and strategy weren't in sync with what we were used to seeing - especially two candidates being aggressive towards each other. Then that person won and nobody could understand why, because the share of voice on platforms doesn't lean towards the main bubble of the population. Then you had the tit for tat/back and forth claims of the Dems, Russian collusion, etc. And now all of this. All after four years that included BLM, Antifa, Covid, Impeachments, etc.

    It's on another level, but let's be real and not pretend this didn't start way back. You could even argue it's always being ugly but like everything in life we've got access to so much more than we used to have and people have platforms that can reach so many more people. Add in the media and the whole world is just a very sad place these days. That's why virtually everyone feels a million times better when they just switch off for two weeks and escape.

    The question is though, if he’s so sure of a Trump victory (100+ pages of going round in circles) then why did he cash out??

    On the betting exchanges you can 'lay' (i.e. bet against) an event as well as back it. If you have backed an outcome at good price initially (e.g. Trump, when the polls were against him) you could still lay that event if the odds move in your favour (on election day, when the vote initially looked tighter) even though the selection may technically be losing. And exchanges are not the betting form v the punter, they are punter v punter, with the exchange making their money from commission.

    I don't really care about the bet debate to be honest. I was just explaining cashing out to Helen. But I'm a fan of cashing out and the profit margin would have been great so it makes sense to me.

    You could argue it's always been ugly, but there's different levels. I went back the other day and watched some of the Obama/McCain stuff and the Obama/Romney stuff. The debates were about policy and ideology differences, not personal attacks and just straight up lies. You can see the starts of the Trump base in the McCain rallies, but unlike Trump McCain was a decent human being (well, he was pretty trash on a lot of things, but he had respect at least). Look at this video. If this was a Trump rally he would be rallying his troops in the "obama is an arab terrorist" camp. The sad thing is, that racism would have probably won McCain the presidency.



    Trump has changed politics for the worse and anyone that voted for him has contributed to that change. History will not look back fondly on Trump or those that supported or enabled him.

    Proper laughing. Not going to happen. Pence does not have the power and he knows it. Trump is trying to put public pressure on him to break his constitutional oath. That's not going to win Trump the presidency, it's just going to delay Biden's inauguration while the Supreme Court tells Pence he can't do that. Insanity.

    You're losing me there but I'm sure it all makes sense. So if it's likely Trump will win initially you put money on that, then you cash out because less people think he will and then you bet on him again when no other person in their right mind would because the election had already been called in Biden's favour!?

    I think you should jump on Twitter and tell Trump and his numerous legal advisors that they haven't got a clue about the finer details of the US Constitution.

    In fact, perhaps you could put yourself forward as a short-term consultant?

    Also not going to happen. Pennsylvania is already certified. There is no decertification process.

    And even if it did (which, remember, it isn't). That still wouldn't win the presidency for Trump.

    It's a shame Lady G thinks trump has dirt on him that nobody knows.
