just come up on Twitter - Russell Martin confirms that striker Carlton Morris has been recalled from his loan by Norwich City, with a view to completing a permanent move away from Carrow Road. Is it going to happen
Hope so, defo would add a different dynamic to our squad. I know anyone can be made to look good on a youtube showreel but the bits that are on there look promising.
Think he was back with them or certainly out of the MK set up late December where it was reported he and Norwich were speaking to a championship club. 19th Dec i think was his last game and not in squad since. I wonder if there was a technical clause that triggered recalls i.e. offers, transfer window to announce this now.
As MDG says anyone can be made to look good on YouTube. I've just watched him. He's very, very good in the air. Look quick, strong and good hold up play. Something we don't have in the forward department. Well see but looks like he'd be a decent addition. Will he have played with Brittain at MK?
If he signs for us, I obviously hope he does well, but he has so far scored 22 goals in 147 appearances, according to Wiki - hardly prolific and largely at League One level. He presumably has other desirable attributes.
You've got to take in to account age, how many games from the bench, the type of teams they've played for, players they've played with, etc. Harry Kane had scored something like 14 in 70 before he really kicked on with Spurs.
Yeah that French lad people (including myself) said was **** is banging them in now. Mandron I think his name was.
Did anyone watch the Southampton v Liverpool match the other night? There was a young lad that came on called Valery and he held the ball up won headers and ran the channel really well. Nearly scored. I could have swore he was a target man watching him. Turns out he's a right back. Could be the next Dion Dublin or Chris Sutton. Get in for him on loan.
I agree, 30 in 180 overall...... as a young lad with a full year out aswell. He wears number 9 but looking at the footage I'm not sure. 6'2' and looks very athletic. Like I said. Well see.
As we're playing a more direct style it would be interesting to see us play with both Adeboyego & Morris up front and Woodrow in the 'false #9 role'.
How many strikers have we signed in the last 10 years who have scored 15-20 in a season regularly prior to us signing them up?
It may be wishful thinking and my concern would be that Liverpool insist that their loanees must play. If Ishmael didn't take to him he'd be saddled with an additional (expensive) wage.
Winnall and Bradshaw. I think that was last time we went out and got our men so to speak. I don't know why we haven't continued to take a scoring charts approach.
