SW 12 in 70 overall TB 13 in 72 overall Both since leaving us. I know they've had injuries like but how the mighty ........
Can only think of Winnall and Bradshaw. This has more of a Moore style signing looking at other things as well as goals as the main contribution. Goals will be the bonus.
i think TB would be absolutely a great player for us in this formation. maybe not in terms of total goals but his energy and effort would be vital, id back him to score m ore goals than chaplin and frieser combined though,
To be fair to him, Winnall has only started 24 league games since he left us, which was four years ago. His goals to minutes ratio isn't actually that bad. Judging somebody on goals to games ratio is pretty pointless. Bradshaw was unlucky picking up an injury during his loan spell at Millwall. He was never really prolific at this level though.
I do actually agree with you. You could play 46 times a season all off the bench. But it also begs the question is it injury, form, attitude, crap in training that contributes to not starting games rather than bench warming?!? Victors goals per min are probably better than Cauleys this season (I havent checked) but i know who I'd pick first.
Seemingly an unpopular opinion, but I really hope we get Carlton Morris. I think he's exactly what we're missing. I kept an eye on Stefan Payne at Shrewsbury after he left us; at the time he was scoring regularly. I watched a fair bit of their highlights, and it was Morris doing all the hard graft. They got into the play offs that year largely down to the influence Morris had. He seems to have lost his way a little bit since then, the Rotherham fans didn't rate him, but the MK Dons fans seem to. They appear to have got him fit and ticking, so maybe he'll slot in seamlessly here and hit the ground running. A bit similar to if Matty James goes to Coventry.
Seems like this is the signing the club want, so hopefully it comes off! Bradshaw is doing ok at Millwall by the way.
This is where im at too. I see him as being good with his back to goal, seems to hold it well and turn. Physical and quick. Maybe something different irrespective of goal count. Does anyone know his assists?
He seemingly chips in with a fair number of assists. I watched the two videos of him here at Shrewsbury and here for AFC Wimbledon and obviously it could just be the clips selected, but for AFC Wimbledon it shows him often much deeper and/or wider (mainly on the left). In fact if you were to just watch just the first video he looks more likely a winger/midfielder than a striker. The Shrews clips he's much more prominent upfront and to be fair has some really tidy finishes. Either way he looks really good on the ball and is certainly a physical presence. If I were asking him to play somewhere I'd be getting him playing through the middle and letting people run off him. Can he play at this level though? They clearly think so.
If we can stick 2 big mobile strikers up with Cauley, come on with how Val plays everyone can watch out. Big strong lads at the back, quality wing back and a great choice of CMs. You unstoppable reds.
