    You compared the protesters who stormed the Capitol to tourists thereby impying they were largely harmless and acting peacefully. I can't remember the last time tourists were involved in an armed standoff at the chamber doors.

    I'd be interested to know your views on how much responsibility for today's events lies with Trump.

    No I didn’t. I was being light hearted on my first viewing of it right at the start before it got to the state it did. Multiple posts have been made that condemn everything that has been going on today.

    All I ask, politely, is that you try not to slander me all the time. Saying I would have reacted differently is completely false and against all previous posts I’ve made. I hate riots masquerading as protests of all kinds and have been consistent with that stance.

    Slander? Nice attempt to take the moral high ground but nothing I've said comes close and even if it did I'd be covered under the honest opinion defence. Also it would be libel, not slander.

    What's your view of Trump's role in the day's events?

    Not taking the moral high ground. It was a genuine request, and if slander was the wrong word you knew what I meant. I wasn’t threatening to take you to court so you don’t need to be ‘covered’.

    I think today has been awful on all counts. As multiple posts will show you. I think they’ll rightly return tonight, rush through the votes, and things will finally move forward.

    We’ve all been telling him this for weeks.

    Except he doesn’t know that it’s QAnon and misinformation, he genuinely believes that these nut jobs have a point.

    the upside is that the poor lad genuinely believes that it’s us that are deluded, so at least he’s happy.

    Due to restart in an hour. I wonder if Cruz and co will continue with their objection? It’s difficult to see how Donald Trump could still have any support in that room. Not just the incitement, but his actions afterwards. What does it take for his loyalists to say “you’ve gone too far now, I’m out”? A woman has died.

    The only thing that stops me saying ‘ban him’, is the potential for him to end up on Parler. I suppose at least on mainstream social media the world can keep an eye on his insanity. What he’s done tonight is tantamount to leading a fascist junta.

    I’m still genuinely surprised someone hasn’t taken him out before now. No one’s even tried.
