I hope that if he isn't in prison he runs as an independent in 2024 pulling votes from the Republicans and costing them the election as karmic punishment for enabling his nonsense.
Not the point. When you post that in this thread in direct response to a riot in America it isn't random and it's inappropriate when it's false
I hope he goes to prison and still runs as an independent taking votes from the Republicans. There's no rule against running from prison.
I'm clearly missing something here. Didn't Donny Tyke post a still from an animation that is a satire on how (stereotypically) the US police deal with protesters? If you're white you're a protester, if you're black you're rioting. I thought it was quite a good visual pun, very relevant to what has happened this year, and intelligently done. But you seem angry about it, in which case I must be missing something. I realise that the media have labelled them rioters, but it's worth looking at the footage of protests earlier this year and the response by the police to those compared to the response in the last 24 hours (and it's the hand of a policeman in this still, not of a journalist).
The police called it riots too. I wasn't particularly angry about it no but I thought it was worth pointing out that despite it going against the narrative that everyone on the planet is racist this largely white riot has been called exactly that, a riot. By police, newspapers, news stations and essentially everyone apart from the orange buffoon himself. Yes it's satire but it's really not relevant in this case. I'd say that 4 dead suggests police actually didn't treat it softer because they were white
A thought about the timing of yesterday’s riots. Ive spent a lot of time on Twitter since just before the election and his followers always thought there was a path to victory, despite countless legal defeats. ‘The Kraken’ was going to be released - they really believed that, you couldn’t tell them anything different. Even given the fact that Pence couldn’t impact yesterday’s proceedings, they believed he could - even Trump said he was relying on him. If they thought Pence still had a part to play, why didn’t they give it chance, rather than halting proceedings by storming the place? Their actions made Trump and themselves even bigger losers if that was possible. On reconvening, a good number of senators changed their minds and threw Trumps hopes further under a bus. Seems to me that many of Trumps supporters know the score with the constitution, but are happy to go with the conspiracy theories had just gone past the point of no return with their blind loyalty.
It is but it's completely incorrect, misleading and essentially the false news that trump supporters claim all the time. Are we not better than using false news (in whatever form) to create a false narrative and to push an agenda?
Not everyone is racist and I certainly don't think the people who made the animation or Donny-Red think for a minute that they are. But there is a racist faction within the US police department, not everyone, but it's clearly there, and if we can't be satirical about that, I'm lost at what we can do. And I thought this was quite well done.
There is at least 19 casualties from BLM rallies. If you don't think the police treated this differently because of who was protesting you haven't been paying attention. The way the police acted yesterday was shameful. Thankfully it's been called out today by Biden as such and not been allowed to be ignored.
We can but should we not do so when it's relevant and not when police have called it a riot and shot dead one of the white rioters? It creates a false narrative
Weren’t there 9,000 BLM ‘rallies’ in 2020 though? The police were massively underprepared yesterday. It was shocking. I don’t know who, why, what, but it needs to be as an important investigation as everything else that’s going on. Too many different stories out there to decipher the truth right now but it needs to come out
11 deaths in total directly attributed to political protests in 2020. I think, but can’t remember exactly, that five of those were the police. Others were security or the public on the public
