It's only a coup if it comes from the Coup D'état region of France. Otherwise it's just sparkling white nationalism.
You might remember from the summer that ST has a hair trigger when it comes to any suggestion of racism within any American police force. It’s rather odd because: ST is apparently surrounded by racists in his everyday life - I barely ever meet one ST believes that the whole of American society is built on institutional racism - so do I So despite ST’s world being full of racists, and him believing that the USA is institutionally racist. He gets really angry if anyone suggests that any American cop has ever done anything racially motivated. Personally I’m impressed by the logical dichotomy. But he does get very annoyed about it.
Listened to all these tory M.P.'s Patel and the like condemning the protesters and rightly so but not one as condemned the Orange one for inciting their actions.
Which is exactly what I’ve said. Restrained/Disproportionate are essentially the same thing in this context. Out of sync with what was happening
What Trump did on Wednesday should not be allowed to go without consequences. "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States" was the oath he took on entering office. If he can incite such violence and unlawfulness whilst in office, how much unrest and division will he stir up in the four years before he can run again? And how can it go unmarked that the nation's foremost citizen so trashes the constitution that Americans profess to hold so dear?
I still don't see the humour in it unless you believe it true. I don't see the relevance unless you believe it accurate r That's not true. There are many racist American cops and a large number who behave in a racist manner. What I get angry about is when people automatically make assumptions and accusations because SOME are racist. There is a short video going round at the moment where a woman states that if your friend loads a 6 chamber gun with 1 bullet, spins it and tells you to shoot you yourself in the head you wouldn't take the risk. 1 in 6 women are sexually assaulted and therefore why should women trust any men? They wouldn't trust a 1 in 6 gun so why trust a 1 in 6 gender? My belief there is that whilst you should be wary you shouldn't live your life in fear and tar the entire gender with one big brush right? Yet that's what we do with the police. Because there are some racist police we just assume everything is race related when it's not. I've no problem calling out the thugs in police, the incompetence in police or the racist cops but I think it's just wrong to say that because someone wears the same uniform they must be the same. This week we saw police shoot an unarmed white woman dead (justifiably in my opinion. good riddance!) but even then the response was 'just think what they'd have done if they were black'. I see no need to stir up and create a racial divide any more than there already is. Call it out when it happens but don't just make an assumption.
Unfortunately, it appears that five people died in the events of Wednesday. One policeman who collapsed after being hit around the head with a fire extinguisher, one was crushed, two more "medical emergencies" and someone who had a heart attack after managing to taser himself. Reports that some of those involved with ex and (more worryingly) active military personal. I think that the FBI will be knocking a few doors down after the 21st (when Trump can no longer pardon them) and quite a lot of people will find themselves on a felony murder charge - including a fair number that were not even in Washington but had been inciting these events from afar for months or even years beforehand.
Today should be an action packed day. Fully expect the house to impeach him again today. The only president to be impeached twice. Tomorrow or Monday it will go to the senate. I think there's actually a decent chance the senate remove him. It will be close, though. If he's removed he can't run in 2024, so I can't help but wonder if people like Ted Cruz will want to remove a potential competitor.
The Trumps hosted a completely peaceful protest that they definitely had no idea would turn into a riot and terrorism at their request watch party. Complete with music. It would be funny if it wasn't so serious. Criminal scum the lot of them. Hope they all rot in prison for the rest of their lives.
The footage is from before he went on stage apparently. Bad enough, as they know he’s about to incite a riot, but not quite a ‘riot watch’.
I’ll be honest it made me laugh, I am looking at purely as a joke tho and not whether it’s true or not
To be fair that seems to be part of his criminally irresponsible "rally" rather than them watching the storming of the Capitol. But I agree with the sentiment re: jail. Kushner in particular has a face that I would never tire of punching.
To be honest I don't care when it's from on the day. They know why the people are there, they know what they are planning.
