Traffics a lot lighter in Wakefield, give my daughter a lift into work everyday. People saying “it’s still just as busy” ironically mock those dolling out “hospitals are empty” line- 2 cheeks of the same @rse.

Do you mind if I ask why? Is it management wanting you to come in or personal choice? I presume if people were at home last time the job can be done from home? I don't think you're an exception by the way, I think this is happening a lot

We have less ICU beds because we have less staff to manage them.

And too much oxygen given to idiots in the press pretending it’s like flu or that it’s a hoax or that the hospitals aren’t overrun. Pillocks. Very dangerous people.

We have spaced people out, and have more physical barriers in place between them. We have opened up rooms that were used for other purposes and staff members are in there alone.

Before they were on furlough. No business income, highway to hell.

Yeah, the furlough makes sense. Do people actually need to be in though? Not saying its not a safe environment that's been created but just wondering if its essential to be there? I know some of my mates could be doing their job from home but either are choosing to go in or being pressured.

Me and a few others can work from home. Others can't. Friction can start in those circumstances. But nobody has said owt this time, they're all coming in - even some who were given the option of furlough again. So we must have done something right.

It's not easy though. I suspect trade will drop off and furlough will beckon for many of the staff.

Plus if we hit some sort of mega R-rate in the county, we may have no choice. Or if one goes down with it, we'll probably all need to stay at home.

It's the same balance that the government wrestles with, in micro.

The restrictions aren't going to be relaxed based on the vaccination rate, it will be based on the case and death numbers, ICU admission etc.

Initially based on an assumption of a similar ratio to currently, but ideally the case:death ratio will come down significantly when the vaccine is rolled out and at that point restrictions can probably start to be lifted despite higher case counts.

I'm still not massively happy with that, but it does make sense.
