"Meanwhile, Professor Peter Horby, chairman of the New and Emerging Respiratory Virus Threats Advisory Group (Nervtag), said the new variant has made the situation “more risky” and that if the infection rate does not slow down then “we’re going to have to be even stricter”."

Even stricter than the police arresting people out for a walk and entering someone's home to give them a good kicking? Crikey.

Although it's not like it wasn't predicted.

Stricter as in making it illegal for you not to wear a mask outside so banning breathing in fresh air. Stricter as in banning support bubbles to make those who live alone feel more suicidal.

As a hospitality business owner, the £4k that was recently announced along with the £1300 a month will just about get us to the end of March as a going concern, but even then it'll be with big debts, no cash and five months of rent arrears which will still need to be paid at some point. Fun graph: a chart of our takings since opening in July 2019.

I guess they do say that the first two years are the hardest!

There has to be a breaking point with this. I know some on here are supportive of tough measures but things I’ve seen suggested as tougher lockdown measures I think would kill more than it saves, or at least kill more people’s spirits so life isn’t worth living.

By Easter all that wants a vaccine should have at least had their first one in the nine categories in the list. At that point there should be no need for anymore restrictions.

Just the previous year. You can see how it matches up from July onwards. Sold a few vouchers to fund the expansion into new premises which is why there's a bump in April.

But restrictions control people and stop proper scrutiny so don't hold your breath waiting for them to be eased.

It depends on how much vaccinations in those groups sees the pressure on the NHS. They aren’t kidding when they say it’s at breaking point. So they are the numbers to watch. It needs R to get well under 1 not where we are at the moment.

Yet again, the answer to lockdown not working is to do more of it in more extreme circumstances. SAGE more and more appears to be a collection of loonies, fruit loops and weirdos.

Unquestionably experts in their fields, but like a lot of outstanding academics absolutely no life skills.

Have a look at who the experts are. One of them is an expert in behavioural changes. Not an expert in diseases at all but an expert in human compliance.

It won’t work like that though. They will keep up strong restrictions for as long as they possibly can. Suppress the working class, prolong conservative rule.

Limit numbers in supermarkets for a start. Felt far safer sat in a well run pub or restaurant than I’ve ever done in any of the supermarkets. Aldi at Barugh Green was rammed today.

Answer to lockdown? Lockdown is the answer, not the cause. You’re a bit confused, mate. & you’re not alone..
