who does these rumours?

 

What's the difference in prize money between 7th, let's say we don't make playoffs with him and say 16th? Is it more than £1m? If so keep him and let him go for nowt, our lot can afford it.

 

Rumor is millwall offered 850k on Friday we knocked it back after 1.2 million. Would be insulting selling our better players to millwall.

 

I keeping saying this but it would be utterly stupid to take £1.2m now and risk our championship status which is worth 5 times more, Again remember what happened to HULL CITY!

 

Selling our centre midfield pairing is a disaster waiting to happen. If it happens, the board will lose the goodwill they’ve built up pretty quickly!

 

If we’ve asked for £1.2 million, that means we’ll take £1 million.

 

In th EFL, everyone gets the same I think, irrespective of finishing position. If we did a Hull though and went down after selling him, then that would be a hell of an expensive mistake...

Whilst I think he could make the difference between 10th and scraping into the play offs and that's a maybe, big maybe, I just don't see us going down this season even without him and James. That would be a hell of a capitulation, we are not as dire as Hull.

 

I'd try what we did with Hourihane. Offer to make him the highest-paid player and promise to sell him if a much bigger club comes in for him and the finances are right. If he still says no, then decide how much his services are worth for the remainder of the season. If it's more than we are being offered, tell him he needs to stay professional and give his all for the club. If he refuses, get every penny you can.

 

I wish I could say I agree, but this is Barnsley Football Club we're talking about. They always cease to amaze me! Until we're mathematically safe, I can't but help to look down the table than up!

Obviously an amazing transfer window can change my mind, but likewise, a crap transfer window can amplify my anxiety massively!
