I think the players genuinely love playing for the manager, if it was any of our previous managers I think ( imo) he would have been off, ( yes I know their is still plenty of time) but I think the players truly respect him and would feel as though they have 5hit not on the club or fans but the manager himself if they were to go, COYR
I don't get this "if we get rid of so and so it frees up more money to offer Mowatt" argument. We have a salary policy and have had for years. We're not going to pay someone whatever they ask or there'll be a 25 player queue at the manager's door the next day wanting a corresponding increase. Maybe it's a different scenario with Mowatt than, say Hourihane, in that we're not far off what he'd accept but I suspect if one of the vast majority of other Championship clubs do offer him a deal it will be well above our salary limit. Or am I missing something?
I think that's all they can do. Given James has gone I'm sure Ismael has made the position clear to the board. Although we'd lose out on the fee for Mowatt, if we drop in the table like a stone with both experienced midfielders gone we would still risk a relegation, although unlikely, but we would be far less attractive proposition to hire recruits in the summer. I'm sure if we hang on to Styles in the summer he'll be able to boss the centre of the park, with Kane, Palmer or possibly Halme in the holding role. He's done well there in the past & might suit our "vertical" game well.
I was in a band once & was getting ready to leave for something better. I fancied the drummers sister something rotten, so he sent her round to dissuade me. I left anyway, but just a thought..
I could send the fit sister. She’ll be old enough to be his Mam nowadays, but worth a punt. Actually, I wouldn’t mind catching up with that one again.
Barnsley have rejected a £1million-plus bid from Millwall for the former Leeds United star Alex Mowatt, Football Insider can exclusively reveal. The 25-year-old’s future at Oakwell is up in the air as he is out of contract in the summer and yet to commit to an extension. A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Millwall have submitted a bid of between £1million and £1.2m for the goalscoring midfielder. Barnsley have set an asking price of £1.2-£1.5m for one of their prize assets. https://www.footballinsider247.com/...r-barnsley-midfielder-mowatt-leeds-united-ex/
damn was just getting interesting, you missed the bit where you banged her over the drum kit ,then left anyway, when I write your biography will put that in ,look better in film too, more rock and roll
I am crying with laughter, you just made it an A* Drum set scene, think your my brother from another mother, so funny, we can replicate that scene but with Mr C mate asking if he banged his sister on the drum set, the film is sounding ace
Erm... Well Donny is close to Barnsley, but I’m struggling to find many more that make it better than East London...
