So why wasn't that given then for a push in back, but woodrow gets called for exact same thing on the defender..... double standards. As I said **** referee.

Didn’t look much to me. But I didn’t think Watford should have had one either.

It was blatant push in the back, so if that's the case why was woodrows a foul in defender and thats not ..

because are just a recent ex premier side.... and thus will always get the rub over " teams like Barnsley". If you have not seen the dvd "Day Drean believers" then try take a look. There is a scene in that where a fan quite heatedly tells that we are pariahs to the FA...... the fact that Arsenal got voted in all those years ago despite us being head and shoulders better at the time says it all. The FA sees us as lepers its that simple.

The defender caught his foot. VAR would have more than likely given it as there was contact, but very soft and Woodrow was looking for it.

Didn't watch last night, just listened to the commentary and I've only just seen the highlights. My honest opinion is that it would have been a very "soft" penalty.

I also think that the Watford penalty was somewhat harsh as you can clearly see that Brittain is trying to get his arm out of the way. Also, as he moves across to make a challenge, his arm comes out in what looks like a typical involuntary movement to aid balance and not to "make himself big". Just imagine yourself athletically moving forwards like this and think about what your arms do without any conscious thought. Whilst I have some sympathy for the ref with the current interpretation of the handball laws, he did get it wrong. Had the ball not hit Brittain's leg then onto the arm, it would have been more of a penalty, but even then it was hit from very close range.

It looked to me like Brittain's arm was out while he was trying to shout instructions to a team mate. Which was a very naive thing to do, Deeney just aimed for his arm, he was almost appealing for the penalty as soon as the ball left his foot.

The Woodrow decision would have been very soft. I think refs are starting to assume he's not got the strength of the defenders and he's getting no decisions at all in his favour. I think he should be moved to a wider position, where he can make runs into the box, off Morris playing in the middle.

Woodrow might be leading goal scorer but his general play is poor at the moment, at least when it comes to getting past players. Some of his passing is very good but some not so good. I’ll put it down to him loving his time so much at Oakwell that he’s doing his best to put bidders off.

I think a switch out wider, or deeper, might benefit him. We certainly need to be playing Morris down the middle.

He had a stinker of a game and tried his luck with a blatant dive knowing time was running out. The Watford player knew what was coming so just stood his ground beside Cauley who went down like he'd been punched by Tyson Fury.

I've seen this penalty incident several times now and it doesn't hit Brittains leg at all. Brittain's got his arm raised and out above his head. Deeney sees this and kicks the ball straight for his arm. Penalty I'm afraid

My personal view is that Woodrow is working very hard but sadly he’s not getting into a scoring position, when he does the ball isn’t coming to him. I’m not totally sure the 343 suits him. He’d be much more effective playing in a 2. Morris looks like he’d be a good foil

Must admit that all the replays shown last night had me baffled. You should be able to see a ball travelling at thigh/hip height suddenly change direction upwards and hit the arm. All I saw was the ball going to his arm which was the only one sticking out, for some reason.

Totally bizarre incident but it does infuriate me when I see all the blatant hand balls we've not been given since the Pinnock one last season.

Nah, clearly hits Brittain on the thigh then goes up onto his arm. But yes it was a penalty, I've seen the result on the BBC....

Both looked like penalties to me.

    Clear handball from Brittain.

Whilst Woodrow was looking for the foul, he does get a hand in his back and appears to have been tripped. It's a foul everywhere else on the pitch. Then again, an actual referee did say there's a difference between a yellow card tackle and a second yellow takle at the weekend.

Looks like it came off his thigh to me?
