    It seems clear that relations between Trump and many senior Republicans have broken down, and it's hard to see McConnell endorsing another run in 2024. The Guardian talks of rumours Trump will set up his own party - possibly named the Patriot Party. That would surely be bound to split the Republican vote. So it makes me wonder whether that increases the chances of Republican Senators tactically providing the seventeen votes in the Trial in order to knock Trump out of the next presidential election. I don't think Trump's narcissism/ego would permit him to campaign for a proxy as president, so in an ideal world he might lose interest in the project and settle for carping from the sidelines on his newly-founded media outlet. Assuming he is not in jail!

    Won’t return just yet; apparently the wall built round the Whitehouse / Capitol for the inauguration is a prison to hold Biden and all the others when they turn up. So the Donald and his supporters can take the country back.

    I think I will be a bit disappointed after all this build-up, if nothing happens. CT needs to get himself into the event promotion game the way he has sold this inauguration as a must-see event! The likes of Eddie Hearne and Vince McMahon could learn a lot from that kid!
