What an incredible bowler, 5-fer on a flat deck in Galle. Brilliant effort.

Spinners pretty ineffective this match . If only they had Stokes to bring on.

Fantastic from Jimmy, he just keeps going! Well supported by Mark Wood too!
An area of concern for England has to be the spin department, Leach and Bess not offering too much. I also don't think Moeen Ali will be the answer when they go to India next.

There’s not been much init for the spinners but you’d expect more than 0 wickets between them. Neither of them look to have the consistency for test cricket but they’re the best we’ve got I’m afraid.

The guy must be like 200 years old!

I watched Test Cricket right from being a kid until it was no longer on terrestrial TV and I haven't watched it since. That must be going on 20 years, but I watched Anderson play. He was in the same team as Darren Gough and Alec Stewart. Gough is even older than me and Stewart is older than time itself!

Amazingly, Jimmy's only 38 and made his England debut 18 years ago in 2003!

I watched his debut Test series which I think was against Zimbabwe. Everyone was so excited about his potential. I haven't kept up with his career. I pretty much tuned out from cricket when I could no longer watch it (although I did watch that amazing world cup win a couple of years ago). Been looking at his stats this morning after reading this thread and can see he did live up to that potential and then some. Amazing career. Particularly as there was some talk back then that his bowling style might cause him a lot of injuries.

No finer sight in sport than Anderson in full flow. What a servant he's been to English cricket

there boy looks like a world beater compared to our 2. Bess is average at best and unfortunately our best skinner leech isn’t much better.

Yes I know but I’m just pining for those days when we used to have proper openers who were almost guaranteed to put on a century opening stand
