Only watching because of the Reds connections. Luke Thomas and Kayden Jackson v Lee Johnson and Josh Scowen.

Poor game from two of the big names in the Third Division but the conditions are not good. Jackson got sent off early for raking his studs down a player’s leg. Thomas seems to be filling in as a striker since then although I’ve hardly noticed him. Scowen is centre midfield but again, hardly been mentioned.

I might give it ten minutes into the second half before switching off because it’s really not good football.

Jackson hasn't done his teammates any favours by that daft decision. As you say, poor game and sending me to sleep

Ah a goal at last . Charlie Wyke has got 15 this season. Maybe Little Lee will take a million plus Schmidt and Miller for him?

Sunderland fans really disparaging about Wyke but he seems to be getting the goals.

You need to be watching the Man City game if you have BT, very impressive

Don’t have BT. I’ll watch MOTD in the morning, hoping not to have heard any results

It’s like Bob and Terry trying to find sanctuary away from Brian Glover’s tormenting!

It's difficult to tell because of the disparity of games in hand, but Doncaster seem to have hit their stride in that division. Their fans on the radio seem a bit pessimistic about their chances, however I think they've won something like 7 in 8 in the league, and have 4 games in hand over some of the teams around them.

Sunderland and Ipswich are settling into league 1 for the long haul I reckon. Can't see either going up. Doncaster and Hull the stand out teams in that league for me, with Lincoln a distant 3rd.

Hull were beaten last night though, their wins are drying up a bit. I'm really wanting Accrington to get in the play offs, they've games in hand so could do it. Doncaster have lost Whiteman but so far seem to be weathering it. Their number 3 seems quality.

Last night was their first defeat this year and at the weekend they went to Pompey, top of the form table, and smashed them 4-0.

They’d beaten Accrington Stanley only recently 3-0 so was a very strange result last night.

You’re right. They were. I can’t understand though why teams often rack up a big half time score and then ease up in the second half. Our demolition of Huddersfield is an example with six first half goals and only one in the second. I’d like to see a few 10-nils.

I must admit, I never understand why they do that. I appreciate that managers may want to rest players once a substantial lead has been built, but you would have thought those players that come on as substitutes would want to prove a point to the manager.

Maybe the opposition might have something to do with what happens , you go in at half time on the end of the drubbing , the manager tears into them & a damage limitation plan comes into play , coupled with professional pride & things change somewhat , just a thought

I can appreciate that and no doubt that plays a part, but a team like City have strength in depth and their bench was very strong. Add to the mix that West Brom are so inconsistent, although they did better in the second half for periods.

If you remember its not that long ago they got a 0 v 0 at City ,but last night after the first half it was obvious they were playing for nothing more than pride

But they've also lost to Portsmouth in December. Think it's going to be tight, Oxford on a bit of a run at the moment too.

Went to Sunderland season before last when we lost 4-2. Everything they touched went in, but we made a game of it.

I was worried all season that they might take advantage of the games in hand, but apparently the game against us was one of their best performances.

Both of the teams on display last night looked a long way off our last 2 promotion teams in terms of moving the ball quickly. Sunderland look very pedestrian in comparison.
