Hope there’s plenty of reading on it .
Gonna need summat to banish the boredom whilst waiting at Spanish/Greek customs .
Cheers Brexiteers at least were in control of our borders whether we chose to allow travellers with COVID-19 in or not .

About a week once I’d sorted the photo, applied online, took a photo in a booth that gives you a code to put on for the photo. Did initially try doing one on my phone but they rejected it

My burgundy passport expires in 2028, does that mean I'll still be able to go through the "EU Nationals" channel or will I have to go with the UK 2nd class citizens? When we can travel abroad again of course.
Genuine question by the way, I have no idea.

You have to go through as a UK citizen. Sadly, we're no longer EU nationals.

By not blue do you mean you got a red one or that it looks black? We renewed the three kids’ late last year and got two ‘blue’ and one red, all three look much poorer quality than our five year old adult red eu/U.K. ones, and the blue is technically very dark blue I guess but it’s as close to black as you’ll get without it being black.

Sunlit uplands though remember. And summat about fishing. It’s all worth it.

Good to see that money is being saved vs more expensive and unnecessary (vanity) substrates?

Surely to goodness it’s can’t be blue! As you say it’s black as black can be but somehow it’s called blue

    It is blue. Just.

Hold it against something that is actually black and you should see a tint of blue, probably the darkest navy you’ll see though.

Who did you get to sign the back of the photos to confirm your I.D. ? Genuine question as I'm applying for my first one.

Whatever you do. If going to the US. plan an extra day in. That’s how long it takes to get through passport control.. Brother in law wanted to go back home due to the checks taking that long.:) Worst and most unhelpful border security ever. Ask a question. They use sign language to reply. (It will probably be same in Europe. Once we are free to travel.)
Coming back. not a problem. They can’t wait to get shut. (I found the American people to be very friendly and courteous tbf.)
Not just me, afore you say owt. :)

I've done one as a licensee, so if the pubs ever reopen pop in and buy the landlord a pint!

Last few times I've been away, the only queues have been in the EU area queue. No queue at all for the others.

It will be the same travelling to EU countries, most travellers will be within the EU so will all be in that queue. Freedom of movement was a bit of a myth, you still have to produce your passport the same regardless.

We just have our own queue now haha.

Doesn't bother me too much, queues are part of the British tradition haha, just get rid of this damn virus so we can all travel again.

Just hope that next time you fly you don't land at the same time as a couple of 747s from the far east.

While all the 737 arrivals from the EU get their passports glanced at then waved through by 10 border agents, you will be in a queue where the 4 agents quiz almost every passenger about their stay.
