Maybe you should just let it go now you obviously have far too much time on your hands if you’ve spent over a hour researching about the Romany community

Oh ok. Just shows your ignorance. and an hr wasted. I have totally understood your reasoning. It doesn’t make it right. But hey. I’m thick. You’ve said so.
Have a good night Jamdrop. If I’ve offended you it wasn’t my intention. Calling people Thick. Does you a dis-service and me. It’s obvious we don’t agree. I’ll leave it at that.

An hour spent on educating myself about someone's way of life so that I can understand them better is never wasted. The fact that you think it is says more about you than me.

If you don't have an hour's downtime to do something you find interesting or enjoyable then you have too little time on your hands. Can you honestly say that you never have one spare hour in a day to watch tv/read a book/listen to music/do whatever it is you like to do?

For gods sake. I didn’t need to . Let it drop. I concede. By the way everyday is a schoolday. Including observing what’s around. Don’t need a book for that. I probably am far more into educating myself than you assume. Where do you want to start. Shall we have a quiz. :)
History. mainly of war and its atrocities. Yes the holocaust.
    Workers rights.
    Mental education.
    Sport
    Life.
    Theatre
    Music.
    Etc
You may have the edge as my memory fades but don’t assume anything.
Being a shop steward teaches you that. if nothing else.

Or maybe you can do it to try and prove that you’re better than anyone else

Or maybe I do it to try and learn something and because I enjoy it? What a weird, insecure thing to say.

You said let it drop and then went back to edit your post with a weird quiz request. I have no idea how educated you are, nor do I care. My reply was based on the fact that you said it was an hour wasted when I didn't consider it to be so as I enjoyed learning something new.

Yeah I get that and had I not been reading all the terrible things that went on only 75 years ago I possibly wouldn't have commented. I know that the poster wouldn't have thought all the connotations through and intentionally slurred them but I thought it was a good chance to have a discussion and hopefully take the word out of common usage. It hasn't worked out that way but I'm still glad I didn't pass it by.

not many would call a gypsy that name to the face, sadly my family and friends interactions with Romany's as you call them have all been negative, including violence and prison sentences. still think your right to make your point
