we went into imho needing to keep James and sign 2 championship ready players to give us an outside chance of pushing for the play offs. As it stands now unless Morris suddenly develops into Ashley Ward we need 3 so it may not have been the fire sale we've seen in previous windows (up to now) it's still been one that shows a lack of real ambition to push on to the next level and we might not get another chance like it for a long time.

James & Mowatt were never staying. I don’t think we need any more players to achieve this season’s objective. Summer is make or break .:)

What do you think this seasons objective was? I think mid table at this stage is beyond anyone's objective at the club with what last year and this year so far has been like we cant moan at what we have achieved in my opinion we have done a good job

Getting to fifth round in fa cup and mid table is fine with me and maybe next season when things are a little more normal we can push further

Still an outside chance on mowatt signing.

Morris looks decent to me. Needs to start next game.

We need a proven forward. A nasty, annoying wind up merchant type. Were too nice at the minute!

Quality wing back to release styles to midfield.

    its easy on paper.

We need pace up front more than that - that's why the rumoured striker is the exact opposite of your description. We must have one of the slowest forward lines in the Championship. Maybe even one of the slowest teams overall?

No. He’s waiting for his freebie, end of season.. Who wouldn’t? He’s a professional footballer, it’s his living for the next 7-8 years. An average pro, with a decent left foot.
Why would he feel close to us? Was fed out on loan, early. After Leeds treated him crap. & has played under 4 Barnsley managers, to my reckoning.?
New Dad too, I heard? Like Cranie & Winnall, one good transfer left & an opportunity to fill his boots & plan for the future. Who wouldn’t?
His mind was probably made up last year. But we’ve over performed this season & Mowatt has added to his value. A £2 million footballer, who will probably cane half of that in additional wages, when he goes in a free transfer & 3 year contract. It doesn’t take much working out. He just needs to stay free from serious injury, otherwise I’m sure he’ll do his best at Barnsley, last of this season.
Anyway. When Connor comes home this summer, we don’t really play need 3 left footers in our midfield..:)

You make some good comments but your original post was talking about Mowatt as if in the past tense , I still believe that he will be playing in the reds shirt for at least another 3 months & hopefully a lot longer after that

Sorry mate, that’s just as I put stuff. I think Alex has already done a deal for next season, not with us, unfortunately.
My 17 year old Jack Russell is also refusing to commit to another season.. :(

Who’s the rumoured striker? Only heard of Joseph, who I didn’t think was known for his pace and is unlikely anyway

We are definitely crying out for pace more than physical presence upfront.

Speculate to accumulate seize the chance while it's there etc etc. We spent money this window on players for next season not this look I'm not saying bankrupt the club but we may have to wait quite a while before we are only six points of the playoffs at the end of January

My Alf. Came to me last April. If he gives me his whole last year. It’s been worth it for both of us. Gentle, happy old lad. & I have no complaints. Love him to bits. :)
