I just about scraped it to 4 and a half minutes til the idiot pulled out a spiderman mask. I couldn't take anything seriously after that, and i was struggling as it was.
I found it difficult to be told at the beginning that I’d have to wait till the end to hear the opinion of a yank about a footballer. A yank! If you wait till the end of this thread, I’ll give you the run down on nuclear fusion and brain surgery.
Adeboyejo does not sound like Dike. Tyke Bike Hike Mike Spike Sound like Dike. Reminds me of an old joke. What sounds like a bell and smells? Dung
I’m s I’m sure our lyricists will be able to tweak it to rhyme with Barn a Lee ((lay) or similar . They’re quite inventive like that really .
My biggest insight so far is that ‘soccer’ fans have remarkably fragile egos. I’ve not seen any comment regarding the deal that doesn’t shoe horn ‘short term’ into the commentary from US sources/ fans. Would be excellent if we did end up buying and it wasn’t the spurious 20m figure being touted. ‘Soccer team the Barnsley red soxx have activated a short term buyout clause on Daryl Dike and the player has agreed to a short term 5 year contract’
Says on there current market value $3.3 million. Thats around £2.5 million. This seems about right as a buying option. No one would blow $20 million on a 20 year old whos scored 8 MLS goals.
On the video it says they asked Bruge for 8 million at start of Jan, which they Bruge refused. If true would think it finally dismissed the 20 million rumour.
Isn't the $20m a release clause? So if you offer that, you guarantee to buy out his contract. But you could still offer anything you like below that, and its up to the club/the MLS to accept or reject it?
Thanks, Archey - my reflections on the video are..... Daryl should prove to be one of the most powerful strikers in the Championship and we're giving him the opportunity to accelerate his development in a more physical league. Anyone with a Strength rating higher than Lukaku is a force to be reckoned with! The obvious concern is with his technical ability and dribbling skill (noted as lacking), but his hold-up play could have an immediate impact on our goal threat and his movement off the ball will be as important as the service he gets in that regard. I'm really impressed by what he's achieved so far, but this will be his greatest challenge to date and it'll be fascinating to see how quickly he's able to adapt to the Championship.
