Ha ha, to be honest I can't remember that, but I do remember trying to get to Bobby Ham at Bradford!

I think that’s the angriest I have ever been when leaving Oakwell ( I wasn’t at the Willard Show) to say we were cheated out of 2 points is an understatement

One (of the many) sending off that annoyed me was at Grimsby I think. Striker runs past Kevin Miller but had the touch of, well, a nasty man so the ball was away so he did a star jump and went down like he'd been shot. Would have been funny but Miller got red carded. Tried to find video of it but no luck. About 2000/01 season?

Travelling all the way down to Gillingham, August 1980, and see Mick McCarthy sent off after 3 minutes. The referee then allowed Gillingham to commit fouls like Mick's for the rest of the match without even a talking to from him. That 1-1 draw is one of the best away performances I've seen from a Barnsley team in the circumstances.

Didn't we once have a substitute sent off without even stepping on the pitch?

Didn't Cooper get sent off at Leicester for pretty much the same thing where he just turned and booted the defender? God bless Steve Cooper, absolute nutter but I loved having him in the team, such a character.

Ashley Ward at Sunderland stands out to me - he was unplayable for the thirty-odd minutes he was on the pitch

Weren't those Port Vale games around the time Robbie Earle crippled Ian Wardle and ended his football career after 9 games? I can imagine that would add a little spice to the next encounters.

Paul Reid away at Blackpool in 2006. His sending off got us promoted.

Can remember Norman getting sent off v Swindon away 1981 .
Swindon fans giving him a hostile reception because of his links to Bristol City and ref couldn’t wait to play up to them.
That ref had only one intention imo and that was to brag in future as being a referee and I sent off Norman Hunter.
That’s the only possible explanation for that decision that day imo.

I have a vague memory of Kenny Burns sprinting the width of the pitch to clatter somebody into tbe wall bottom and getting a straight red.
Worst offence against us was Bobby Cumming at Grimsby in a big promotion clash running straight over to Allan Clarke, scything him down and out of the game. I think he got sent off for it but they'd got rid of Clarke who was a huge influence on the pitch.

Very annoyed at mitch ward away at bradford (may have been 1st game of season). All all around us you could see he was "on one" and we wanted him subbed. Think spackman was coach then.....we lost 4..0.
Think ashley ward was up front for them and totally schooled chris morgan.

Away to Leeds in the premier league.

Hristov sent off for foul and abusive language despite the fact he could barely speak a word of English.

I remember his lofted clearance when we were 2-1 up at home to Stockport that resulted in them equalising in injury time. A complete failure at Oakwell. I was excited when he signed though because I'd seen him play for Everton and Sheffield Utd.

I was there. He was just in front of us warming up giving the linesman dogs abuse.
