The Oakwell stuff at the end is interesting.

Yet another good interview from Dane with some good snippets in there.

I’m sure some will, but I really can’t fault his communication.

Most of his communication in that update involved him not going into any details.

So he's good at keeping in touch with telling us about how much he can't tell us.

I get where you're coming from but it's not bad. Sometimes it's easier to find out what's going on in The Taliban than at a the Club, but fair play to him; at least he's making the effort.

    I disagree. He says plenty.

We'll be at Oakwell next season.

Id hope a bit longer than that.

    Nothing much.

I wouldn't expect to praise him for that particular communication however.

That's the only thing that truly scares me about these owners (or any potential owner). All the rest about this player or that player is just good banter and a part of football, and football fandom. I don't even ever really care what league we're in (I'll watch and support whichever). I think we'll all adore Barnsley Football Club, regardless.

Why did we ask Rotherham to groundshare? Is it just posturing? Would we be at Oakwell next season if had they had said yes?

I think if we leave Oakwell because our owners have fallen out that will kill it for me.

I imagine it was a backup plan in case things went sour RE: Oakwell

It’s a bloody sight more than you got from either Dennis and, I dare say, we would have got from Doyle.
You can’t expect full glasnost from any club, especially where finances and players are concerned.
That said I do think we’re more candid than most.

One thing Dane mentions in almost every interview is how they plan for all scenarios.

I think it was sufficient for what us, as fans, need to know. For exampl, he’s not exactly going to go into all of the financial details of the Dike deal is he?

    You're probably right.

But when in the space of a medium sized article he states 4 times about what he won't go into, it might be better to stick just to stating what he's prepared to say.

There are one or two other things as well, but I won't go into them.

Finances sound a worry. It is so important for teams all over the country to be able to pack stadiums out next season.

I do, And I’ll watch whatever league we’re as I have done for more years than I care to remember. I always want us to play as high a level as possible.

Me too, of course. But it's not a dealbreaker in the way that moving us to Rotherham would be.
