Cheers, Paulie. Enjoyed that. Refreshing to hear direct questions answered, honestly as possible. without googling him, is that an Ohio accent.? Sounds like my old pal Kevin Junior, from bands. He was from Akron.. :)
edit.. from Conneticut. I was 500 miles out. Needs his wiki page updating. No mention of Barnsley..

Are the Programme Notes from yesterday and today's Midseason Update, part of the same interview, and if so, will it be on iFollow anytime soon?

Very good interview. Gave a lot of insight into the Mowatt situation too.

Best interview I've heard from Dane. Straight shooting from the hip.

The interesting bit for me with Daryl Dike, is that we have first dibs on him.

Even if that agreed figure is say £8m. If there’s a enough interest in him come the summer, and he does well, we could pay that, and then sell next January for £10m. With a £2m profit within 6 months. Or sell for more next summer. It’s a risk, but that’s one way we could do it.

It’s only what Brentford and Southampton do (whom I always see as our natural next steps in terms of transfer dealings).

Transfer fees are instalments, so it’s not paying money up front.

This is the long term plan - the higher up the league we go, the more transfer fees will go up, and hopefully re-sell fees too.

Mowatt waiting to see ambition from the club before committing to a new contract. That's relevant to what happens on the pitch. Can't help thinking he isn't going to sign unless we're promoted or make the play-offs. That's no fault of the club but Mowatt holds all the cards.

I’m not sure it’s ambition - more like wages he’s waiting for and a big signing on fee.

I don’t blame him like, but that’s what it is.

    Thanks for posting Gally.

A good interview from Dane. Honest, open, articulate. Seems like a bright lad our Dane. Always thought he was on the end of lots of unnecessary stick in the past. He's effectively been running the Club's operation through the most challenging of times and he's been doing it successfully. Great to see people on here recognising that and giving him the deserved credit.

He had no obligation to be that open on some of the matters raised in the interview but he was. He also gave a good insight into how we're applying our objectives on the playing side, and the togetherness of the group. A fine example of strength in adversity.

The other thing I've noticed about him is that if he makes a mistake, he apologises and corrects it. Top man Dane. You have my support and that of many others I'm sure.

Can't think of any of the previous incumbents in that job who have performed better.

The programme notes are the notes he writes each match. We just felt like publishing them online following the end of the window.

The further update online today wasn't recorded for iFollow. We just transcribed a bit of his press stuff that he did today. Just covering the main topics in case folk don't read the Chronicle/Yorkshire Post.

This Radio Sheffield interview was a separate piece with them, but addressing the same issues.

Thanks Gally - good listen that. Probably the best interview he's given to date imo. I'm warming to him.

I've really come to like Dane now. He seems to be doing a great job - January last year appears to have been the turning point.

Good communication with the fans and a better plan for the squad. A few years ago we'd have sold Mowatt at any cost and sold one of Woodrow or Styles.

I think they might have made a **** up not selling Mowatt and bringing in another central midfielder. We're not going to make the play-offs so the club might as well have made a quick buck. Now they might lose the player for nothing in the summer and still need a replacement. Daft business. That's not me being negative.

Holding out for maximum money by the sounds of it..... Ambition from the club tho?? If they had shown abit more ambition previously it's unlikely he would even make the starting 11. Can see mowatt going somewhere and bench warming for a couple of years, be on a decent wage tho.

Always better to replace in the summer Stephen. Look on Mowatt as a loan if you like, but one we know can do the business.

Once we couldn’t sign Whiteman, we had to keep hold of Mowatt. Lose him from this squad and there’s a real danger of sliding down the league

They obviously had a price that they considered was worth selling him for. Anything less than that amount and he's worth more being in the team for the rest of the season. I trust their decision on it.
