..which means it's not compared against anyone taking them on - just in itself. When I was a kid I remember David Wilkie smashing the World Record in the 200 metres breaststroke. But I think Jonathan Edwards in the triple jump is the best of the lot.
Bradley Wiggins winning tour de France in 2012. Olympics Super Saturday London 2012 Golds for Jess Eniss Greg Rutherford and Mo Farah
Not a specific performance, but "Super Saturday" at the London Olympics was a superb evening when we got the 3 Gold medals through Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis and Greg Rutherford
To add to that Torvill.and Dean Jonathan Edwards triple jump (I think that record still stands over 20 years later?)
Yeah but he's hitting balls supplied by others. Relying on fielders provided by the opposition to bugger it up. It's not all up to him. If Lillee and Thomson or Whispering Death or Warnie had been bowling it wouldn't have happened. It relied on the foibles of others. Not allowed.
Torville and Dean is a great one. Bradley Wiggins relies on his team p.s. Edwards' record still stands. For a brief time he seemed to float - it wasn't just one freak jump like Bob Beaman.
Roger Banister , 4 minute mile . Still resonates to this day even though it’s been broke many times since .
Torville and Dean, forgot about that (how could I lol ) still gives me goosebumps every time I see it You are correct Jonathan Edwards triple jump record still stands from 1995
Yeah but somebody's got to come along and break his neck, for heaven's sake. Plus he was German if I seem to remember. I want purity - man against clock or weight or height or length or err...donkey - not personfulness in unfortunate circumstances.
