Not really, a lot of the locals talk that, but the area where the university is was mostly unused derelict industrial land, has been taken and built on. The locals begrudge companies building on the land for the Uni instead of affordable housing, but most struggle to understand the difference between council funding and private enterprise.

I was thinking more on the lines of the private landlords buying the cheap terrace houses and converting to student accommodation.

Not really happening now, they did when Uni first started, companies buying whole streets, but they are now gradually being squeezed out by the new on site complexes being built.

When I was a kid back in the late fifties, Lincoln City were a really good side. At that
time, I was taken to Belle Vue by my Dad to watch Doncaster Rovers. The games
against the Imps were always very competitive especially at Sincil Bank. Barnsley
    were in the same division.

As my Dad was in charge of the Stand that housed the dressing rooms I often got the
autographs of visiting players. In one of my books from that era, I got the signatures of
goalkeeper Harry Hough, centre forward Tommy Taylor and winger Arthur Kaye.
I always remember one game against the Reds when Harry Hough saved everything that
Donny threw at him. He was literally unbeatable in that game.

I really hope so, but Dixon street and the area near Sincil Bank is still top heavy with student accommodation.

Can't wait for the 11 am kick off for the away fixture and being rounded up off the train by the police.

Was last there in 1979. We took a LOT.
Quite a bit of bother and luckily our Neanderthal fans outnumbered their Neanderthal fans.

Weren’t they big supporters of the ‘Remain’ campaign in Lincoln?

Having lit the fuse, Mr Fawkes moved slowly away.........:)
