Great to see so many getting a jab. The roll out is speeding up all the time. Over 50s will be done in no time.

Its not the penicillin allergy that's the problem, its the possible anaphylaxis which can be life threatening. I don't wish to suffer that again as I thought I was dying..

I’d get loved by a needle with the vaccine if it came to it.

You can book by phone or through your gp Ian, online just easier for most. My lad who’s on the vulnerable list just booked first jab on the 13th second beginning of May. That’ll be a relief to his mum and dad when it’s done

It must vary from place to place. Last week my mum got a nurse turning up to give her the jab out of the blue, an hour later got a call off the village surgery asking if she wanted one and the next day got the NHS letter to book on.

Had my jab through work on Tuesday of last week and have my second dose booked for 13th April. Work in healthcare in Leeds and had the choice to book at Elland Road (Oxford Vaccine) or Thackray Medical Museum (Pfizer Vaccine). I have principles. So, Thackray it was!!

Seriously though, other than a dead arm for 24 hours, had no problems, and the facility ran like clockwork, and excellent experience.

Local feedback is showing no clear evidence to suggest one vaccine is causing more problems than the other.

My wife, nurses in Sheffield, has to wait another 3 weeks for her vaccine. She tested positive for Covid-19 in mid November, and had an antibody test last week, which was also positive.

    Stay well everyone.

Sister in law had the same reaction to penicillin when she was much younger. She had the jab,
Pfizer, pa couple of weeks ago with no reaction this time. They will probably make you wait for 15 mins after your jab just in case, but will have the facilities to sort you out if there are any signs of a reaction.

After lengthy discussions today with the vaccination centre and a 119 clinician I have been advised not to have the Pfizer jab but the Oxford one instead which should be ok. The vac centre provide the Oxford jab so I should get it on Sunday unless they change there mind when questioned about my medical history.

Don't mind which one, just can't wait for my turn. Step son sent home from work (Wakefield Prison) to isolate again today, second time in 3 weeks. He's only been back at work from the first time round for 5 days. Seems he might have it this time - test result coming. We are having to make sure he is always in a separate room, gloves on, mask on. Mum's friend has just lost her son to it, same age as me. Whole situation is just a bloody depressing nightmare now.

I had my jab on Thursday through work. Next jab 15th April. It's a weight off my shoulders. Only thing were side effects. I had Oxford vaccine. In bed Thursday night temperature and chills. Woke up Friday with a banging head ache. Took paracetomol for work but had the sweats. Felt fuzzy all day at work but nothing I couldn't handle. Usually get blotto Friday night but was that zonked in bed for 9:45.

A small price to pay for safety though?
