Aberdeen beating Real Madrid - Wikipedia states that the whole team, and the subs, were Scottish.

Eddie the Eagle. Not the greatest performance, perhaps, but certainly a memorable one.

Three for me; Rugby World Cup 2003, Cricket World Cup Final 2019 and Ashes test at Headingley the Ben Stokes one !
I’d probably say the cricket World Cup win in 2019 that ending

Hate to be pedantic, but Toxteth held world record for ‘stickiest bogey’..:)

I don’t know if it’d be classed as a greatest performance as I’m talking about over a season but Gerrard in the 2005 Liverpool champions league campaign was out of this world good.

    Saved them so many times.

I’ve heard Carragher speak about how him & the rest of the team only have a medal because of Gerrard’s performances.

Me and my mate were in Hyde Park that night, the atmosphere was brilliant, the pints helped....

Nonsense. Past and current team mates have consistently failed to match him. By your logic they should be hitting similar points totals - they haven't. He has been blessed with the best cars but there's a lot more to it than that.

My mother in law. Would nay on kill anyone who said that to her. And that was in the days of les Kellet. Big Daddy etc. Although I’d find it hard for anyone to have beat Giant Haystacks. Regardless .:)

Used to love it in the late 80s/ early 90s but it isn't sport, it is scripted "entertainment". What they put their bodies through is impressive, but it is 100% not sport.

George Russell stood in for Hamilton in one race. He had little preparation - the car wasn't particularly set up for him.

He failed to take pole off Bottas by milliseconds and was more likely than not going to win the race until Mercedes messed up his tyre change. Therefore it seems that others might readily do what Hamilton has done, in a better car.

You are entitled to your opinion on how good Hamilton has had to be. So am I.

The car is far more an important factor than the driver these days.

If they all drove equivalent cars, I reckon Hamilton would be in line to be one of the best, if not the best driver. But he's started with an advantage over everybody else (save one) each season for years now. So it's hard to tell.
