    I'm not wet and I live 10 minutes walk from the ground. The grounds of my house aren't waterlogged. There's nothing we can do about the weather but there's a lot we can do about diverting and draining water.

    Got to say I agree. The pitch has looked awful for weeks. Appreciate we can’t do anything about the weather, but forecasts should have given a clue. Surely there is a way to protect the pitch?

    I don't think it's the groundsman's fault. It's the lack of investment at Oakwell since the Dennis era.

    The pitch has been in a reyt state for weeks. Never seen it as bad. Water can be held off the pitch. Looks like they have done absolutely sod all to prevent any water damage to pitch

    Speaking as someone who has just put artificial grass down in back garden i have little knowledge on this. What do you mean by investment? I know we re lay the pitch every close season. I assume you are correct as generally speaking the higher up the football pyramid you go the better condition pitches are in.

    At least the player’s will have had a nice long break for the cup match. Don’t get me wrong I would have league wins any day over a cup win, but it is what it is so let’s make the best of it.

    The rain itself probably wouldn’t have been a problem if the pitch hadn’t previously been covered in snow.
