Looking at getting a new tv in the not too distant future

Used to have a projector so had 96 inch, changed to 65 inch when 4k appeared and the cost of 4k projectors were silly money

Looking at getting around 85 inch TV, anybody got one

Do i go QLED or OLED, always bought standard ones before but this time want better. I'm not an LG fan but that's probably because i have an early 40 inch 4k one and it's rubbish including the software on it. My other 6 TV's are all Samsung but have read that QLED is just pretend compared to OLED. Samsung are doing a new NEO QLED but i'm guessing that will be expensive when released

    Any info appreciated Cheers guys

If I were you I'd contact @robpropix on twitter and ask if he's willing to sell you the parkway cinema. The screen might be a bit small for you though

Haha, yeh that would be ace. I like movies in full 4k with Atmos sound so it can be a bit like the cinema at times

One in every room apart from the bathrooms although I have just put a tablet bracket in the bathroom so I can watch TV whilst in the bath

If I had a TV in every room including the bathroom I'd still only have 5

I looked at OLED before I bought mine last year. An OLED screen that size will be an inordinate amount of money. The real advantage is true blacks so if you watch in a darkened room there's no backlight to bleed through. The downsides are initial outlay, screen burn and repair costs if damaged accidentally or severe screen burn occurs. For normal living room use (if 85" can be seen as such!) I reckon a high-end LED set will be almost as good, longer lived and half the price or less.

It's probably cause it's an older one in scheme of things but when that happens your a bit reluctant to try again

I've got a budget of around 3k but could go more and they are around that price. Our room is always dark, have LED's around the TV and then another set around some beading we've done. The wall is about 7 meters across with nothing on it so plenty of room for one. Thanks for info

Our room is dark, painted grey ceilings for that reason so it gives a more cinema room effect. Cheers for that

If my tv was that big I'd need to sit at the bottom of the garden

You can get the 85" xh950 version which is a slight upgrade at Currys for three grand.

Cardboard box? You’re lucky! We used to have to get up an hour before we went to bed!

Apart from the odd game of football in an evening, plus the Barnsley games, I probably watch about an hour of TV a day. I don't really need to have a TV in every room
