We apparently used a piece of music once without permission back in 2018. Trying to get a resolution. On today of all days.
Wow. A quite impressive level of scrutiny. Meanwhile people spout racist and offensive tripe on Twitter and they can’t identify who did it... Priorities and all that.
Literally the first thought I had. You can incite riots, lie, hurl abuse, create misinformation and cause disruption and seemingly get away with it for long periods of time.... yet play a bit of music on your feed.... crikey, get the 10 year jail terms ready!
In the light of Barnsley FC's recent twitter suspension and rules vioaltions the FA has carefully reviewed the available evidence and has imposed a 3 game ban on Cameron Mcgeehan.
Bloody hell. There's some sad acts in this world of ours but whoever the claimant is here may top them all
It's strange but I kinda like the new twitter handle @1887BarnsleyFC It's got a nice ring to it. Also, this is funny lol
F@cking algorithms. The world of copyright claims where music is involved (on the net) is just a horrific place.
How do we reckon it got claimed? Some distribution company doing some sort of scan back over content on Twitter? Or some petty fan of another club trying to mug us off...
It’ll be automated. Happens all the time. Doesn’t usually lead to a suspension though, usually just leads to the post in question being removed.
There are law firms in America who trawl the internet to find "unauthorized" use of copyrighted material then pursue legal claims based on that. Very much the ambulance chasing end of the spectrum.
It’s not law firms mate and there’s no trawling. It’s done by music companies automatically to find usage of songs they own the rights to. Normally used to ding people that just post the full song to make sure people can’t listen to it without paying etc. But often hits things like this. Never seen it get an account suspended before though.
