Some great players mentioned on my thread from yesterday, but here are the head on chopping block questions. Which player did you like, who no body else seemed to rate? Which player didn't you rate who most other people seemed to idolize? Just 2 names!
For me I thought Bob Earnshaw was brilliant (I was only young) but he got a lot of stick!
I could never understand the adoration of McPhail!

I could never understand, and still don't, how people refused to acknowledge the positive contributions of quality players like Steve McPhail & Paddy McCourt.

Was very skilful, but overshadowed by others. A bit like Barhe was in my eyes

    And to the 2nd

    Andy Payton.
Personally thought he was **** and idle. But I know I'm likely in an extreme minority

Mike Sheron I rated but nobody else liked him. Martin Crainie. People raved about him but I thought he was crap.

Oh, and I could never understand the adoration of Chris Morgan who I never rated at all.

Steve Chettle wasn't universally rated but I thought he was class.

I really thought Darran Foreman was a right decent striker

Perkins was the one for me on the flip side, ran around, pointed, stood half a yard away from where he should have been, but because he was running he conned people!

The defence in 2003/4 was under rated. I liked Sasa Ilic, Peter Handyside, Craig Ireland and Tony Gallimore. I thought they steadied the ship well. I still don't know what went wrong that season.

Thought Paddy had two or three sublime cameos but rest of the time nondescript, McPhail I agree was a class player

Jacob Burns was under rated. I think we'd have gone up automatic in the 2005/6 season had he not gone to Krakow. Paul Hayes was over rated.

Paddy McCourt when he turned up was a match winner. Otherwise you might as well start with ten men for the effort he put in.

Steve Davis centre half was class. Had he not had his injury he would have been class for us in the prem alongside De Zeeuw.

Andy Liddell. Wasnt a fan but if asked why i couldn't even try to give an answer.

I could he missed a free header against Leeds in the Premier League season that would have put us 3-0 up. We lost the match 2-3.

Craig Davies for me. Still think he's one of the best strikers we've ever had at the club yet rarely gets a mention. Scored every type of goal.
Can't remember anyone that I thought was gash that everyone else rated. Glass half full kind of a guy I guess.
